Our politics is devoid of ideology. The Governor wants to secure his 2nd tenure. Endorsing the President was assured and expected with his defection.

2027 should, ideally, be a referendum for the APC, especially at the national level. In reality, stomach infrastructure politics, electorates self-indulgent attitudes, opposition parties candidates and our judicial system would determine the continuity or otherwise of the President and other candidates seeking re-election.
So he can't win election without moving to APC? Knowing the.local election in his area it is safe to assume that he would have won easily under PDp.
You don't know what you are talking about.

IF ONLY INEC is FULLY INDEPENDENT it will shock many politicians with the outcome in 2027. Everyone has just ONE vote. IF EVERYONE IS ALLOWED TO FREELY CAST THEIR VOTE BASED ON THEIR CHOICE WITHOUT INTIMIDATION. IT WON'T MATTER WHICH PARTY YOU BELONG BUT IT WILL BE BASED ON CHOICE BY THAT INDIVIDUAL VOTER.

JUMPING OR CHANGING YOUR POLITICAL PARTY WON'T MATTER.

Watching closely the 2027 polls...

That is the problem,,,,,one person will decamp and it will translate to an entire LG, Senatorial District or State voting for the party he or she decamp to,,,,like everyone there don't have a choice of their own

They can all defect as much as they like.
My own is, let there be credible free & fair elections where the votes of every Nigerian will count.
There can never be free and fair election in Nigeria.

it is not jùst about being bold if you must tell us, it must be reasonable

the albino said he as always admire Tinubu leadership style,
if its about leadership style does he need to defect to a APC before he can copy

Most of this Men in politics are empty heads, the Tinubu they are running to today stood alone as opposition for years, without aligning with the centre Lagos state did better than most states that magneted the centre

I am yet to see one sensible reason since the defection trend, just self interest above All

"Devoid of ideology" according to an observer I can accuse of being devoid of intellectual depth and objectivity.

Eno has spoken well of first being a fan of Tinubu as a professional working in Lagos under Jagaban's Governorship of the State. That is enough to explain his admiration for Tinubu and belief in him.

Secondly you should consider the notion that Eno and many others know more than you, a likely biased individual, what it will take for the "African gjant" to truly rise and lead Africa as befits her enormous potential.

Where you see failure, because yo can no longer buy petrol at 200 Naira per litre and remain obsessed with the cost of Garri and rice, they see critical and essential reforms that must be followed through, with sacrifice, to get Nigeria and Ngerians where both truly belong per our God-given endowment.

How do you then expect those thinking as I believe Eno and many other discerning leaders are thinking today to not back Tinubu?

They know and accept failure to do so only let's in the likes of charlatans like Obi and Atiku who may then rescind reforms, Eno and.moat.Southern leaders view as crucial and unavoidable, to then take us back to the days of weaponised poverty against the masses using subsidies of all kind that are really evil ways of giving Nigerians cheaper yet far more worthless lives and existence in comparison to their peers worldwide.

If you have not yet worked it out, because you are of the ignorant view all Nigerian leaders are self-serving, most Southern Governors will naturally be inclined to get behind Tinubu and help, if they can, to keep him in office.

This is because he is giving them what they have always wanted and no other President has delivered.

I.e more allocation, that were previously being consumed by private scammers through fuel subsidy, and more direct autonomous control over their own affair as most local and global democracy advocates have always argued (i.e independence for all tiers of governance from Federal, to State and the local government level) is crucial for the growth and development of Nigeria

Governors do not have the same chanllenges as you whose judgement of leaders begjns and ends with the cost of bag of rice and the ability to be able to buy cheal fuel when they must view things in terms of what is best for their States and people short, medium and long-term.

Don't mind them, as if the mass are zom.bies that don't know what they want.
Previous election in Lagos shows that it's difficult to rig the majority especially in this modern era.
If it was in the 1999 to 2000s era it might be easy but now, no joy in the land.

He's made his choice.

Most people are hypocrites accusing the man

'Whoever claim that you changed 'cause that money came
They'd do the same if they saw their name on a hundred thangs
Pardon the haters, it's my billi behavior
If they don't say I'm the GOAT, that's just silly behavior'

Many people would do same if they were in his shoes.

Are you even from Akwa Ibom to be "wishing' for what should happen in a State you are not a member of her electorate?

Automatically, those who wanted to contest governorship position under APC in Akwa Ibom will now have to give up the dream. Wonderful….. this is sweet and we will see how the pending explosion will hit the APC

This one has spent too much time explaining and re-explaining. This simply means the move is greatly unpopular amongst his populace. If Akwa Ibomites are convinced about your defection, you wouldn't need to talk this much. Tinubu will sacrifice each and everyone of you for his inordinate ambition.

There's a big difference between the defections happening now and what happened in 2015. The defections have failed to give APC the needed momentum and they are becoming increasingly jittery. Lately, the defections have even made Nigerians more determined to vote out Tinubu. 2027 will be very interesting. I don't know of any single person outside the Southwest and not a politician saying, "I didn't vote Tinubu in 2023 but I am going to vote him in 2027 because my governor decamped". The politicians themselves are only doing so to get more streetlight allocations priced at over 200 million naira per one but until Tinubu is willing and able to award the contract equivalent of one streetlight each to every single voter, then he has his work cut out for him.
Buba Galadima, Tanko yakassai are ready to vote Tinubu. There is absolutely no state in the south that Atiku can win or get up to 100k votes apart from Lagos. Even if Atiku wins the north, he will fail woefully down south

Hmm they always have no apologies after getting their mandate from the people, politicians always feel they got their powers themselves after they get to office , anyways when most voters have sold their voting power for peanuts

2027 is already won. grin cheesy

Tinubu on his way to securing 15m legitimate votes.

What we should start discussing is who Shetima/Nuhu Ribadu will pick as VP in 2031.

As a bloody obidient, I can tell you that Tinubu is not the cause of Nigerian problems. Baba that problems has been there before the old man came. Tinubu is more active than Buhari no cap.

This is a bit sad. I blame the North and Atiku for this

All they need to do is come out and say categoricall2027 must be a president from the South

So we can have a real and credible chance of an alternative to APC

They are trying to be clever and 2023 will repeat itself in 2027

Re: 2027: I Have No Apologies – Governor Umo Eno Endorses Tinubu For Second Term by themanderon: 8:42am On Jun 07, 2025
A law should be passed that makes it compulsory for any politician to resign after decamping to another party. It is criminal for a candidate to depart to another party with another party's mandate. It's very wrong but the political class deliberately left it that way.
