LZAA:But you would agree with me at the rate at which they are loosing customers , they may not be able to keep up with payments if this trend continues for a few years....why they are still floating is because of mainly football matches they air My submission is not a silver bullet, it would be modified but what I pointed out is the bane of their problem and the solution is most viable ...if they want to fine details , Iet them contact me |

chigoziri2403:Pay per view is actually more expensive https://www.nairaland.com/8412225/nigerians-afford-pay-per-view-tv Here is the part many people still do not understand. Pay-per-view is not just another subscription model. It is a separate service where viewers pay an additional one-time fee to watch exclusive live events. These are not your average football matches or soap operas. PPV is for blockbuster fights, high-stakes UFC showdowns, or exclusive concerts. You pay once, you watch once, and that is it. It is not Netflix, it is not YouTube, and it certainly is not DStv Catch-Up. |

They are now repeating movies too frequently. Both Hollywood and Nollywood. You can now guess the movies they will repeat today and you will be 70% right. I am surprised they are still spending billions using diesel in their offices Nationwide when they should have switch to Solar system many years ago to cut down running cost. Their offices are loaded with energy wasting/guzzling equipment instead of energy efficient equipment. Maybe that's why they are shifting the costs to subscribers. |

Exactly. Maybe the government, through NTA should just buy and take it over and make it free for all. |

tuoyoojo:And the Viewing centres that depend on it . The moment the viewing centres get an alternative that really works well, it's bye bye to DSTV unless they crash their prices , which they can do because they control the market. |

Nobody likes spending more but if we’re being honest, very few platforms give us the kind of consistent value DStv does.

|

DStv wasn’t for everybody before. You watched AIT & NTA and minded your business. Now they made it affordable, and suddenly you think you’re entitled to HD football for 5k per month. Na you spoil yourself. |

Any business as big as DSTV will be persecuted in Nigeria. Look at DR and look at how he has had to fight to survive. We dont love ourselves. |

JamesParden:In the UK where EPL is hosted, you pay fortnues to watch a single match between Man U and Man City. Here you watch everything, Many Nigerians living abroad cannot afford to watch CNN. Here CNN is like water. Pray that one day we dont chase all our investors away. We mouth our love to have investors, yet we harrass them when they invest. If not for clout, maybe DR would have become history (abandoned project) within its first year. Everyone wants to join government and now everyone wants to join one party. Political office, especially when you are in the good books of the big men in power, seems like the only thriving business that is now. |

mastermaestro:You just said it all!!! Showmax and Netflix was our saving grace until the advent of apps like Moviebox which gives you the options of paying for streaming and downloaded content or signing up for a free limited use of services account. Their days are numbered. They either tow the path of Netflix and Co or be history because other digital content providers also feature live matches options on their portal. |

DammyAdeb16:I beg to differ What consistent value?! Is it the repetitionS Is it the showing of more Old movies than current ones? Again I ask what consistent value? |
