What kinda father inflicts his children with disaster, pain and death?
To prove what point?

I’m not sorry to say that this is a silly and clueless statement from Babangida
Rather than highlighting the failure of the government to enforce building regulations around flood prone areas, they bring religion into it as usual.

Hmmm. What if the people weere resettled with funds being wasted on hajj and salah, will god now send earthquake instead of flood? Na waaa ooo. That's how they brainwash themselves after looting funds.
A whole formwr head of state. No wonder the state is a failed state.

This Statement is insensitive, Why Do We Have to Blame God for Every Bad Occurrence That We Could Have Avoided?

Will you be quiet! How shameless can you be! You live up there in the hilltop mansion a structure your legitimate income all your career cannot afford and make the usual statement used by the Northern privileged few to hoodwink the general masses of the North. It is not hidden that the flood was caused largely by the indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the area of Mokwa that was flooded. Rather than tell ourselves the truth we dump it all at God’s footsteps.

Prevention could have changed the story. There was several warning about heavy rain in some particular area in Nigeria.

We mostly react after the event instead if preventing it earlier
I have a job for you ok.

He may be right, maybe it a punishment from God to revenge innocent blood you people kill in the name of religion

Re: Mokwa Flood, An Act Of God — IBB by Christlike01: 9:13am On Jun 07, 2025
The Mokwa flood isn't "an act of God"; it's a result of the state government's ineptitude and careless attitude toward the safety and security of the people. It is wrong to keep blaming God for what He has nothing to do with. God has given us dominion over our environment and the capacity to overcome any challenge within it. So why blame God for what man could have prevented? The Mokwa flood and its attendant consequences are a direct result of government failure and incompetence.

judewrites:
God permits evil but does not practice evil.

The story of Job is a good example; all the tragedies of Job was permitted by God but not by Him.
Use your brain. Hitler permitted the killing of countless Jews but he didn't operate the gas chambers himself. So by your logic Hitler shouldn't be called a killer.

If you truly understood Nature you will not use such words on IBB statement. Have you ever visited the area in your journey of life? Yes you are entitled to your own opinions but don't disregard other people's opinions. Many Nigerians deliberately built on conference of river which had been dried. The LGA & State government didn't monitor/supervised such area for future rainfall hazard despite warnings from NEMA to the government and citizens.

The wars in other countries as of today are turbulence from God - either you take it or leave it.

What happened in Mokowa is turbulence from God and caused by individual who failed to plan ahead.
May God continue to protect us against any turbulence in life.

if you have read the 1st and 2nd chapters of the book of Job, you wouldn't think this way.

Abeg, go read am.

I support your opinion with my full chest. What a ridiculous statement. He doesn't need to make a statement since he's daft upstairs and doesn't know what good thing to say. I actually thought the older you are the more intelligent you are but now I know a stupid elder when I see IBB...

Guy, it was destined to happen, nobody not even you can stop it God the creator of Heaven and Earth, knows everything. What happened in mokwa was inevitable, rather it a lesson for us.

Respect Your Elders.... Don be silly

There is nothing like 'act of God' but leadership failure especially in that Niger State.
The sharia they are practicing won't allow the citizens ask pertinent questions from the Governor and his cabinet members.

What is coming in years ahead is far worst than what we re seeing right now.

Both good and evil is believed by patriarchs to be permitted by God. And God will never give the enemy permission except the devil has legality.

Re: Mokwa Flood, An Act Of God — IBB by AerialMapper: 10:14am On Jun 07, 2025
Of course, we will call it an act of God but God gave mas a brain and with that brain man built barriers, flood defences, dams , early warning systems.... in Nigeria however we only learned how to not do anything about anything until something happens and then we say its God.

In a few years, it will happen again and we will still say its God...but we will have richer politicians who will thank God!
