hold up play becomes valuable when you play long balls and need a player to hold off defender, it has it's uses so I won't say it spoilt football. it becomes incredibly when a striker been able to receive a pass between defenders is also able to hold the ball, turn and place a solid shoot towards goal

It's because of yeye hold up play that made some people believe Jackson is a good striker. In fact his hold up play is not as good as hyped by his fans.

If you don't know how to strike the ball well, you are not a striker in my eyes.

As a matter of fact, the last knockout World Cup game Italy played in was the 2006 final.

Knocked out of the groups in 2010 AND 2014, didn't make two in a row, and are about to miss out on 2026 in an expanded tournament with a qualifying group that Includes Norway and fvcking Israel and Estonia.

Isn't it just one game they've played so far? I think they'll qualify this time.

Yup, that first set was crazy, basically a repeat of the first set against Iga. Nice one Coco, Fantastic second set, difference is she was able to hold her serve much better than in the first set.

England have better Attackers, Italy has better starting goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders. Orsoloni scored more league goals than Saka and Foden combined last season. Retegui scored more league goals than Soroloth or Haaland last season. Spalletti needs to get more from the squad. The players are descent enough.

Who are the world class players in Switzerland and Denmark who always find themselves at the world cup?. I think their problem is beyond having world class players as almost all their players are serviceable enough to at least qualify for the world cup.

All the wingers you mentioned are mediocre. Retegui at 26 has had only 1 good season in Europe and was going on loan for years until he turned 24. The jury is still out on him. Keane is 25 and this season was his first season scoring more than 12 league goals.

Outside the GK, Tonali, and maybe Barella and Bastoni na mediocre full the squad.

The 2002 squad (that didn't even go far) for instance had Cannavaro, Nesta, Pirlo, De Piero, Totti, Vieri, Buffon, Inzaghi, Albertini, Zambrotta.

Italy is not producing talented players at the rate and of the quality of some of the other nations. That is the truth.
