Yet he couldn't win for APC in the presidential. His party lost more seats to the opposition in the house of Representatives and senate in the last general election and his party narrowly won the governorship. That's is within his state of even when he was a siting governor.

Atiku is still far more accepted than El-rufai in the north.

Just that, Atiku will never settle for a VP slot if he wants to contest. I don't even think the constitution allows that because he was already a VP for two tenures.

Obi never won any election in 2023! He only gave a good fight if you consider how he started and the unknown party where he contested.

There was massive rigging too, both in favour of Atiku, tinubu and obi in their respective strong holds .

But obi didn't win and he never stood a chance of winning even before the election.
Before you will a I be agbadorian, I actually am among the very few that voted for Omoleye Sowore. I know my candidate won't win but I am convertible with my decision.

In 2027, the dynamics will be different. Tinubu should better have a contingency plan in place to replace the Northern votes he would lose with votes from the South. Otherwise, he's toast.

You only make one-directional political calculations. Tinubu now has far bigger structures than 2023. El Rufai is not as big as the structure Tinubu now controls.

For Nigeria presidential election, incubent don't lose unless the person have no interest to retain the seat and over 70% of Governors are in APC.

The game is for everyone to support Tinubu for his 2nd tenure for their various political interest. But after tinubu regime, other yoruba politicians should just forget about presidency in future because they won't get the support from other regions in future.

All these Governors decamping to APC are doing that for their political interest. All are afraid to lose their 2nd tenure to APC.
