Any drink or food or substance that puts you or your health in danger or affects/alters your brain or reasoning is forbidden, including those specifically mentioned in the Qur’an as spiritually-forbidden. You would say why do people take druuggs a lot. Drruugg taking is not peculiar to a religion or a region or a tribe. Don’t follow a stereotype or be allowed to be brainwashed. You would be surprised that those BH boys and k..idnappers and bándîts don’t pray or fast or do good things, as commanded by the religion in which the Muslims among them were born.

Do critical findings and read wider. Travel far and get exposed and you would know that substance abuse is not peculiar to certain people.

Do you know that taking more than certain recommended dose of a medication is also drrruug abuse? If you are told to take one caplet of a medication and you take two, you are already abusing such drrruuug and it would definitely affect you.

Even taking energy drink at job sites to be able to work well is tantamount to substance abuse.

Back to your question, first of all, to maïm or kee.l people, you have to, most of the time, be under an influence of something - whether the ones you have taken in the past that have affected your psycho or the ones you are just taking.
Secondly, people have been taking drruuugs before joining B.H or before BH came into existence.
So it is not because some Muslims among them don’t know that substance abuse is not good or unIslamic. They know it’s not good. They only chose their way of life like that. It’s like betting. Does Christianity or Islaam support betting? No, none of the religious sect supports betting. If we find any Christian betting nko? Are we to generalize it that that’s how Christians bet? No, we can’t generalize.

One more thing we don’t understand is that: you can be a Muslim but you may not be a believer (muumeen or muuminaat - as they call it). It’s like being born as a Christian but not being a believer (or a practicing as a Born Again and still committing sin).

Why we tend to get it wrong is because we generalize things quickly in Nigeria, once that thing is baaad and we feel we are not doing such thing.
