He received a lot of backlash from all quarters and he dropped and official statement saying that he was not holding a gun.

According to his post and I quote

From what he said, he will be addressing this during his service today.

From checks, it appears to be that what he was holding was not a gun but actually a stun torch. This begs a question why he will be holding a stun torch at the said time.

While we await what he will call what he held, lets compare a stun torch to what he was holding.

He exhibited poor trigger discipline though by having his finger placed on the trigger while brandishing whatever it was that he was brandishing but it sire didnt look like a firearm

If it wasn’t a firearm, was it an offensive weapon? Yes! What is a pastor doing with that? Aside that there were too many things wrong in the video to show his level of pride and impunity.

Beware of people that give you half-stories to try to play on your intelligence and vindicate themselves, they are fundamentally dishonest people.

It is something he wants to address in church to draw traffic to his church like a content maker? Smh.

If a so called esteemed “Man of God” is carrying an offensive weapon then we the ordinary citizens should be carrying machine guns but I assure you that Nigeria has not gotten to that.

Authorities better move fast to address that negative sensitization by this so-called man of god, before people under his influence that don’t know right from wrong think this negative example is worthy of emulation

Oga I carry paper spray in my vehicle also one in my wife's car. I use to have a stun device too that delivers a hefty dose of electric shock. This is Nigeria with its insecurity you need it to protect yourself, atleast if you cannot carry a pistol. Yes it is illegal in our unrealistic laws, but will you while driving a low car see a road that is completely bad, but the incomming side is better, but then insist on getting your car destroyed or stuck by insisting you cannot drive one-way on the good side of the road?
Truth of the matter is that it is your duty to protect yourself and loved ones first before anything. I have been robbed when I had a car breakdown by 3 people of which owning a peper spray or other device would have given me a chance. Along Oshodi bridge on ways Ikorodu Road Bridge when dangote was fixing that road, there was this known northerner mascurading like a mad man that will hold a big granite stone and threaten to break your glass if you don't hand him money, I had to hand him 1k when he threatened me in traffic, he said it was not enough, I ended up handing over 5k with begging. Someone I could have given a dose of pepper spray or threatened with a pistol if allowed to own.
Truth of the matter is that we should not be holier than thou, we as Nigerian should also respect others and stop the shenanigans. Why approach the pastors brand new vehicle? Do we know what he even did? What if he was doing the usual hailing and gragra Lagos street boys do when the see a flashy car? Go on YouTube and watch the video of the American couple that drove through Africa in their van recently, when they entered Nigeria from seme border, that was how area boys blocked them standing in front and around the car as they drove pass. Have you not seen incidence where in traffic urchins break glass and rob people?
Now imagine driving a brand new range rover just picked it maybe not yet registered then you see someone accosting you in what you perceive to be threatening.
Oga I remember back in the day as a young man, I stopped by a friends house, just then his mother drove in, I walked to her car window to ask of him, she was startled and got out with her pistol and warmed me not to approach a car like that, that if she did not recognise we on time she was about to shoot me. She was a top police officer.
