The Senator representing Borno South, Ali Ndume, has insisted that he is not part of those who have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.


Ndume stated this on Sunday, while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics programme.

The lawmaker was keen to remind Tinubu that former President Goodluck Jonathan was endorsed by 22 governors of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2015 election but lost his re-election bid to Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).


Last month, 22 governors elected on the platform of the APC, unanimously adopted Tinubu as their candidate for the 2027 election.

Ndume claimed to have stormed out of the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, after the governors endorsed the president for re-election.

“I was there but that was not why I was there.


“I was there for a summit and when I realised that it was not a summit and voice vote was put about the endorsement of Mr President, I just left, and that does not mean I am not an APC member.

“The majority had its way but few of us felt that was not right,” Ndume said.

He added: “It happened before, not once, not twice. It happened during Jonathan. That does not mean anything.

“Politicians are decamping but the people who are the voters are not decamping.

“Jonathan had 22 governors then endorsing him like was done now. And what happened? Jonathan lost woefully. A lot of money was spent. Even the election was shifted but we are not learning our lessons. I pity Mr President.”

It's not really true though
Some of those govs worked against Jonathan while 5 defected before the elections
Jonathan was largely sabotaged in the north
That said, Tinubu's plan is to rig or manipulate the elections one way or the other
That's why he's ensuring that the opposition platforms are weakened. This will disenfranchise some folks to not vote since they'll feel the opposition are dead.
The second plan is to rig outrightly. Expect the same format of glitch or something close

No one, especially those aware of Ndume's history expects him to say otherwise.

I can only use the Yoruba term ikà éniyan to describe him because that aptly described who he is.

His sort are in politics to cause problems, enmity between Nigerians and confusion. Never to work for solutions, progress and peace.

Ofa you forgot tinubu will soon put his brother as INEC chairman the only thing will make tinubu lose election is when he retain yakubu because that man will just announce results and tell you to go to court.

It appears a lot of you still don’t know who you’re dealing with here! Tinubu is no GEJ! I’m yet to see anything that will suggest 2027 wouldn’t be ‘business as usual’!
