The market is now free for all after the subsidy was removed
Provided the quality is of high standards and they source their fx outside the formal route.

Is it just me or do I have a feeling that the quality of this PMS will be inferior?

Global suppliers? So our refineries are dead and only Dangote is producing. I got a better idea.

The landing cost of petrol in Ghana is around 970 when converted to naira
Sales is about 1800 with taxes and gains
It begs the question, if there are suppliers willing to go that low(700), why aren’t other marketers in other countries patronizing them?

The information here seems very unrealistic hence I think it’s just a media stunt to negotiate price

Mind you the prices quoted aren’t exact but close

Free market

But quality should not be traded off.

Some unscrupulous businessmen could go as low as importing substandard fuel just to make dirty profit.
Exactly..... they have not been happy with the abnormal profits that they have been making before.

I hope Dangote the richest man in Africa won't hijack this and sabotage the process.

Dangote, the man milking Nigerians very hard of their hard-earn money

I'm glad the issue of PMS in this country has come to this. Gone are the days when they keep telling us about the landing cost of fuel per litre with it's attendant creation of artificial scarcity and subsequent arbitrary increase in prices.

Trust me, the greed of the so called marketers is one of the reasons Dangote decided to build the refinery because the price volatility was a motivating factor.

Why are they now waking up? So, suddenly they know where to go and who to liaise with to bring PMS to this country at a very reasonable price just because a local refinery is bent on getting a larger market share and they are not willing to lose their businesses.

Truly, we need all these economic policies and reforms, especially the ones that affect all the essential items that the masses can not do without.

One more thing, the transporters that have bought into the idea of cng are still charging the same rate charged by those on petrol. Why do we do things like this in this country? We All know that the cng is far cheaper than fuel but we are the enemies of ourselves.

Peace!

They factors that we want are:
Quality products
Source your fx
Let the effort bring in jobs. We can't be importing from those countries and creating jobs for them. If a few naira sacrifice will keep the local refining jobs here then I'm for it.

Re: Marketers Engage Global Suppliers To Crash Petrol Price To N700/litre by Ebeano49(m): 2:59pm On Jun 10, 2025
It's simple, connive with foreigners to force Dangote out of business and then revert to cut-throat pricing.
We shouldn't celebrate.
Re: Marketers Engage Global Suppliers To Crash Petrol Price To N700/litre by Druss(m): 2:59pm On Jun 10, 2025
I hope the regulatory bodies check the quality of the fuel.

That is the difference between a genuine business man, dangote and politcians who have milked Nigerians for years, marketers.

We dontbhear noise from dangote. We just wake up and meet price reduction. But these enemies of Nigerians are already disturbing our peace with political talkaton. We don't want to hear the useless news just reduce the price already.

Hate to pour sand for a lot of people's garri...but the petrol is going to be poor quality.

Petrol at N650 Or less , imported, with naira above N1500 to the dollar still, means only one thing...petrol refined in substandard refineries.

But because cheap fuel....
Re: Marketers Engage Global Suppliers To Crash Petrol Price To N700/litre by sonofsteven: 3:20pm On Jun 10, 2025
We ain't talking about 150 or 87 naira again
