If you remember what Buhari left, he said we don't even have the money to sustain the subsidy on petrol. Invariably, there is no money to even subsidise petrol.
Despite this, there has been increase FEC Allocation to states recently, that's part of the gains of subsidy removal.
I don't like the President in person but his policies are the best, we need to all support him to succeed.

Let's analyze using common sense, Buhari paid subsidy till June and made only provision till June in the budget for subsidy.

A new president took over in may 29, meaning he had just few days subsidy provision in d budget will lapse.


Now obi is telling us he will use another way to tackle it,obi should b asked d following questions

Will he borrow immediately to make provision for subsidy?

Where will he get money to subsidize before using his own method?

Which country or body will give a new president loan?

The reality is that obi knows the kind of people he's talking to that they won't bother to check

If not they should ask him those 3 questions n watch him go numb

Subsidy had to go because by august 2022 we no longer had money for it.

Heck we were even struggling to pay for subsidy from 1990. That's why we had fuel queue back then till 2024.

Obi would have done the same thing tinubu did. Not because he is like tinubu, but because there was no choice when 90% of revenue was going to service debts. Even the money budgeted for subsidy till June 2023 , a lot of it was non existent.


Forget politics and what anyone says to you. We should have removed subsidy in 1992/3. We didn't listen. Here we are

My advice after listening to the whole interview is please Nigerians let’s give this obi a chance to lead the country. Afterall he that is on the ground needs fear no fall . PBAT and apc has tried but their best seems to have complicated the matter

To even know that less than 2000 Nigerians were responsible for subsidy scam and the government could not deal with them instead chose to inflict pain on over 200million Nigerian masses is frightening

Yep, he is a hypocrite...but the subsidy resistance has always been in Nigerian's blood. If tinubu and buhari, and company had supported subsidy removal.then..both of them would have never ruled Nigeria again.

I doubt Adeboye said anything positive or negative about subsides in 2012. Soyinka has always opposed subsidy removal...for decades...long before 2012.

Organised subsidy removal is what governments, even including tinubu, in a way, did for decades. It is why fuel is not 15 kobo per liter as it was in 1981.

Also, we really had no money for subsidy by 2022. We had been borrowing for subsides since 2020, and the covid crisis so lowered crude prices that it had a vicious knock on effect on government revenue.

We were the strongest in Africa at that time.......how much was dollar?.. Tinubu has nothing to offer it's that simple.. Budget was fixed under the premise that oil would be at least 75 dollars per barrel this year. Even then govt still had to borrow 13 trillion .

Oil has been between 60 and 70 dollars this year. Even as low as 59 dollars this month.

A scary fact..we need oil to be at 103 dollars per barrel to have a budget without borrowing. That's the least price.

If tinubu listened to you and stopped boorwing, by now salaries and wages would not have been paid for 3-4 months and there would even be no money for national assembly member self. And no money to pay debts. We would have defaulted and IMF would have come to exact their pound of flesh.

I am saying this to you to explain, not to defend. Apc is the cause of the above . You promise diversified economy in 2015 , nothing happens..and tinubu even has no plans for diversified economy self.

.but Tinubu promised Nigerians during his presidential campaign that he will diversify the economy and not depend too much of revenue from crude oil sales..why has it not done it till now

.. even when allocation has increased for the state governors..with the high costs of fuel 900 naira to a liter, depreciation and devaluation of the naira..1600 naira to a dollar which are causing the inflation to rise and causing high costs of living, high costs of foodstuffs resulting to hunger, ..high transportation, house rent, school fees, drugs... nothing the increase allocation to state governors can do for Nigerians with fuel at high costs 900 naira to a litre , 1600 naira to a dollar which are causing high inflation and hardship in Nigeria..if fuel is like 200 naira to a litre and exchange rate is 300 naira to a dollar inflation will go down, foodstuffs will be cheap, transportation, house rent, school fees,drugs will be cheap, costs of living will be low and Nigerians will not be complaining of hunger and hardship..so all is Tinubu fault
