Don't let them eat the intestines

I heard a commotion during the night but I didn't think much of it. The dogs were probably roughhousing and I ignored.

When I went to put the dogs back in their space this morning before my workout, I notice a mass on the floor. It was a very large rodent.

Note, my had was on the floor beside it for size reference and so was the spoon.

I will have someone roast it for them later today so they can reap the fruit of their labor

You should have special cooking utensils for your dogs.

Mine have two pots, big spoons, 5 stainless bowls for their food and drinking water.

The cat has bn disturbing within my compound.
I also have a cat and my dog's are even scared of the small cat.
I was shocked to see them kill big cat.
Cats are smarter than dogs. It baffled me how they could kill that cat in such a big and spacious compound without the cat escaping.

That night was terrible. Hearing the fight, I though that giant animal had entered my compound to kill my dogs.
I tried to go out, but my wife totally refused saying it was dangerous to go out that we should wait to see whatever it was in the morning.

They are very loyal and so so protective.
You can even walk them on the street without leash and they won't worry anyone, but don't cross their territory in the house without proper introduction or try to touch any members of the house both inside and outside when they are watching.

Prepare it as pepper soup and give it to the dogs. When my dogs kills such in my compound, they took it to my door step. I woke up in the morning to saw that.
I made a paper soup with it and gave so to them.
The next time, they killed rat and brought it to my door step to cook for them 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

Finally, they killed big cat and ate half of it 🙆🙆🙆🙆🙆

Exactly, I know dogs usually avoid cats wahala and they rarely attack cats fatally. The cat was probably a threat to you and them so they had to kill it... But eating it's upper half body is funny though... Na that one shock me

Good that you even specified it's Pouched rats, a specie I'm very familiar with.

While we were in the village in the '80s/90s, the intestines used to go to our local dogs each time we caught the rats.
No one thought about the dogs dying, and none died after eating them.

Thank you bro. I understand your fear and concern. There's no cause for alarm. I've bn living with dogs from childhood, non of them has ever scratched any member of the family.
Our dogs are well trained.
They don't attack unnecessarily.

There was a time someone who stole people's phones was bn chased and he jumped into my compound from backyard. The compound, once you jump into it, the fence is higher from inside than from outside.

My dogs sensing danger, though they were locked in their space, they joined hands together and broke the door of their cage.
They captured the guy, and pinned him down to the ground and were just circling round him, though his clothes were torn.

With his scream, those chasing him noticed he jumped into my compound.
Someone called my wife cos her shop is not too far from our house. She came and opened the gate and the guy was captured beaten and taken to police.

That cat was not pure.
Normally, it will be very difficult for dog to attack and capture cats. I have a very wide space that can make it easy for the cat to run away. But it was a big fight that night. We couldn't sleep. When I checked time it was about 23mins past 12 midnight and the flight lasted till around 1am.

Problem with many dog owners, especially we in Nigeria, we like aggressive dogs. We train our dogs to be aggressive. Everyone want aggressive dog.
This is very wrong. Training your dog to be aggressive is putting even your life and that of your family in danger.

I prefer training my dogs to be smart, security conscious and also relatively sociable. That's how I grew up to see our dogs trained till I started having mine.
My dogs can never bite unnecessarily. They can't even bark at people they do not see as threat. And they listen to instructions so long as it's from someone from the family. But don't come to the house unannounced or try to shout to any member of the family. They wouldn't waste time to react.

I am animal lover.
One of my daughters is a crazy animal lover.
She wants any animal that catches her fancy as a pet.
She will even see grasshoppers and will be like, "Daddy, please, get it for me."
