In the spirit of Sallah celebration, renowned philanthropist, a passionate advocates for education, youth, and women development, Dr (Amb) Halima Suleiman Zakari, through her non-profit organization, Nana Halima Empowerment Initiatives visited Jahun Vesicovaginal Fistula(VVF) Hospital in Jigawa State where she made donation of N50,000 each to support 85 young girls, the VVF patients who are mostly victims of sexual abuse and under aged marriages and child birth.

A vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) is an opening that develops between the bladder and the wall of the vagina. The result is that urine leaks out of the vagina leading to a bad smell. In fixing this, most women will need to have a catheter in the bladder for a few weeks while the surgical area heals.

Dr. Halima also went round the wards in the General Hospital, Jahun, and gave cash support to patients on sick beds.

Dr. Halima recently visited her alma mater, Federal Government College (FGC), Kiyawa, Jigawa State, where she donated ₦30 million for the renovation of both girls' and boys dormitories. This generous contribution aims to enhance the learning environment and promote the welfare of students in the school.

Also, during the Jigawa State Citizens Engagement Program, Dr. Halima has supported 30 orphans who got married with a token of 100k each to start up a small business. This gesture was extended to making them economically active in their communities.

As part of her Sallah outreach, Dr Zakari distributed comprehensive Sallah welfare packages to residents across the seven Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Jigawa Central Senatorial District. She celebrated the Sallah Durban alongside the Governor of Jigawa State, H. E Malam Umar A. Namadi, she paid homage to the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hameem Nuhu Sanusi, cfr, the Galadiman Dutse Alhaji Basiru Muhammadu Sanusi amongst other stakeholders.

The Sallah packages included food items, clothing materials, financial support, and other essential household items. The initiative targeted vulnerable groups, including widows, orphans, women, and the elderly, ensuring that they could partake in the festive celebrations with dignity and joy.

Beneficiaries across the LGAs expressed gratitude to Dr Zakari and the Nana Halima Empowerment Initiatives for their continued support and commitment to improving lives at the grassroots.

Dr (Amb) Halima Suleiman Zakari is widely recognized for her consistent efforts in driving positive change through various empowerment programs. Over the years, she has championed numerous initiatives focused on:

Education: Scholarships, infrastructure development, and mentoring programs; Youth empowerment: Vocational training and entrepreneurship support and Women’s development: Advocacy for women’s rights and economic empowerment.

Speaking during the Sallah celebration in Jigawa, Dr Zakari reiterated her commitment to fostering inclusive growth and giving back to society as the government can not do it all alone.

"Sallah is a time of reflection, gratitude, and giving. Through our empowerment initiatives, we aim to spread joy and offer practical support to those in need. Education remains a cornerstone of our mission, and we will continue to invest in projects that uplift our communities," she stated.

The stakeholders and citizens at the Sallah event commended Dr Zakari for her unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes and community development. The collaboration between public institutions and private philanthropists like Dr. Zakari is seen as vital in bridging development gaps and fostering social cohesion.

As preparations begin for more community-based projects in the months ahead, Dr Zakari’s latest contributions reinforce her status as one of Nigeria’s leading voices in grassroots development and social impact.

If it is of good heart may she continue to blossom but if there is any hidden agenda may she reap the rewards. Hard to trust people nowadays especially those gallivanting around with siphoned wealth

VVF na terrible something o!

Vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) is an abnormal connection between the bladder and the vagina. It can cause urine to leak from the vagina, leading to wetness, odor, discomfort, and social, psychological, and physical problems. VVF can be congenital or acquired, with acquired VVFs being more common....

The major cause of VVF in Nigeria is malnourishment, poverty and lack of or inaccessible healthcare! Note that not all girls married at early age have VVF! And some ladies married far above 18 have had it!

May Allah bless all these philantropist wey dey change people's lives!
