Clearly wasn't referring to those who aren't earning Salary.
If you be business man, you can even get the money for your rent In one deal, while a salary earner will save up his salary for the same purpose
but you can't put all the money in one deal to a house rent now. Sheeee you will not eat and pay some bills niii

She's correct. It's a popular saying that has been proven over time.

If you stay in a house of 1.2 m per year, earning N200k per month...That means you won't have savings at the end of year cos 50% of your annual income goes into rent
yes. That one is true.

Well, to the glory of God, my rent is less than my two months’ salary. A tasteful two-bedroom apartment in Lagos! God bless my landlord he built the house with the clear intention that human beings would live in it. That’s a rare thing to see around Lagos.
that's great

When Oluwa answer you, you become motivational speaker. Direct your motivation speaking to government to increase minimum wage and landlords to reduce rent.

This one is probably still living under her parents roof.. resson she is thinking in that manner.
What you pay for house rent is a function of the location. If you can endure the stress, live very far away from work (but consider security and your health) and pay less, but if you think otherwise, pay slightly higher and be in close proximity to your place of work.

No one size fits all solution.
Exactly. If that rent saves you the stress of commuting daily, in a safe and secure neighborhood, then it's worth it.

A person who earns 5mil annually and spends 2.5mil to stay in a safe, decent place close to work is doing the right thing.

Life no get duplicate. Just double your hustle.

So from there I go dey go VI, Lekki or Ikoyi everyday for work?? grin

What about my children, what about my family??
So why complaining? I'm given you an option. You either leave it or take note of it. Many of us have stayed these locations and ended up owning our homes as a result of a second thought as this

From Mowe/Ibafo/Magboro, you get VI straight for about N1500. I've been working in the island for over 4yrs now.

So, those persons staying there don't have families or children? There are also good schools in those axis. About three private universities if you wish to enroll your kids in the University. Sometimes, you should need to be open minded and be flexible to new ideas. Many of us too never knew we could leave the heart of Lagos, but, gladly we did on time. Today, Arepo is one of the most serene cities around with expensive houses

If you know, you know!

Room and palour is still okay for a family man as long as your children are still little

I also downgraded from two bedroom flat to room and palour few weeks ago just to cut down cost and focus on my own project

Or you are making below your capacity

Anybody making less than 2m a month is poor.

Your one month income should be able to pay your rent and an average comfortable rent is 1.5m
