So who do we believe now? I will only believe a neutral third party who was an eyewitness because I don't trust Nigerians airlines and Nigerian politicians |

That’s how maxair made me spend 395000 from Lagos to maiduguri last year, instead of 174000. Flight canceled without notice and I had to go. Only alternative was to take another flight to Abuja and then another to Borno, costing me 395k. We take a lot of negatives in this country. |

You see why it is not always good to just follow the lies these blogs spread until you hear the full story from both sides. That air peace is becoming a problem. The staffs are just ruining what their chairman is trying to do. All this ticket racketeering is becoming something else and its not just in the airline industry, even in the rail sector. The regulators should seriously look into this. Abysmal. |

Very true. I remember Aero doing same back in the days when they sell those incredibly cheap tickets and when you get to the airport, they tell you flight don full. At a point I took to sleeping at the airport overnight in addition to checking in online, to beat this. 😂 tunjijones: |

In my opinion, the Senator's side of the story didn't add up. By the way, is he not the same man who denied ever saying that "once you join the APC, your sins are forgiven"? It is a shame that a Senator will turn himself to a tout, no matter the provocation. I hope the CCTV captured the entire episode. |

Dear Senator Adams Oshiomole.. kindly use your good Office to push for fast trains to connect big cities like Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja and Kano, also the rehabilitation of our existing roads across the country to break the monopoly of price fixing by these local airline operators. Those airline people have formed a kind of mafia to be extorting Nigerians. They are capitalizing on the insecurity in the country to fleece people (how are we sure they are not part of those sponsoring terrorism and kidnapping in Nigeria). It's sad that the mindset of an average Nigerian businessman is to extort and reap Nigerians off their hard earned money. This is why they are failing massively in Nigeria whereas their foreign counterparts are doing well. It's a shame on the part of Air Peace to be reselling people's seats for higher prices while denying those who bought tickets due to urgent meeting, appointments or even emergency situations their rightful seat allocations. |

IbnB:Haba! That's not what was claimed. In simple terms, Air Peace is adamant that Osho Baba arrived too late to take part in the boarding process. This is not the same as saying the flight had already departed. “Air Peace strongly condemns the unruly conduct of a prominent Nigerian politician who disrupted airport operations on the morning of Wednesday, June 11, 2025,” the statement said.Source: https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/800213-air-peace-tackles-oshiomhole-over-lagos-airport-incident.html But then, even if the "prominent politician" arrived at 06:10 AM - having already checked-in online - he was still within the bounds set by the airline. ![]() For our London Gatwick – Lagos route, “Check-in starts at 06:30 am. Check-in arrivals after 09:25 am will NOT be accepted”. “Once checked in, please ensure you arrive at the boarding gate no later than 09:55 am or risk being denied travel”.Source: https://flyairpeace.com/terms-and-conditions/ |

Senator, I'm so sorry to hear you experienced that, but I'm not surprised. A similar situation happened to my colleague and me at the Lagos domestic airport earlier this year. They closed the counter a full 20 minutes before our flight was scheduled to leave, and we were forced to pay extra to get on the next one. It's outrageous! They were clearly looking for a bribe to let us through – they practically asked us for money to board the first plane, but I was too slow to catch on at first. This needs to be addressed. Well done, Senator, for bringing this to light. |

My say here is, Adams Oshiomhole is well known from first as a Labour president to being a governor and now a senator. Even if some of the airpeace staffs don't know him I am very sure one or two will know him and then tell others, and he would've been given the recognition he deserves, which makes me doubt what he narrated above |
| Re: My story With Air Peace – Adams Oshiomhole by Blessed4sure: 2:33am On Jun 12, 2025 |
I do not support Oshiomole's reaction, but, truth be told, airlines in Nigeria have a long way to go in this regards. And not just Air Peace. I was with a friend at the airport about 2 years ago. The airline (United Airlines) closed the gates about 90 minutes before the departure time, saying that the plane was full ('oversubscribed'), even though the passenger had checked in online as well. We begged and begged, and even called their HQ abroad. The staff at the HQ said her seat is available and that we should approach the Nigerian staffs, but those ones said nothing could be done as the gates have been closed for the day. She had to pay about $1000 extra to be rescheduled for another flight the next day. (It was an international flight). What is the purpose of online check-in when you have to do the same at the airport? |

I don't know what transpired with Oshiomole and airpeace as I wasn't there, but this I will boldly say: some Nigerian airlines are turning airline business to motorpark business. These guys look for the slightest excuse to resell your ticket on the spot to another highest bidder. I've arrived for a flight 20 mins prior to departure time and they refused me to board claiming boarding has closed, including people who checked in online. How can I be at the airport, the plane I'm supposed to board is at same airport with me for over 20 mins yet I can't board, for a local flight? |
