Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election has opined that democracy is in decline. He also argued that Nigeria lacks democratic qualities. In a post made in his verified X(formerly Twitter) handle, he also accused the government of mismanagement, while urging Nigerians not to lose hope. "...It is most troubling that in its two years in office, the present government has brought the nation to the point where our leaders now celebrate and endorse failure, lies, and propaganda. The government today, rather than show genuine accountability and measurable progress, focuses on manipulating narratives, gaslighting the public, shifting blame and weaponizing governance. Meanwhile, Nigerians live in a worsening and worrisome insecurity, widespread corruption, hunger, and general despondence. There are no clear benchmarks for measuring tangible development, as we continue to witness the collapse of key indicators - like education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation- which are parameters for measuring national progress......" |

"..You need to go around the country to see firsthand what the citizens you are serving are going through. Governing by remote control is not what Nigerians need.... " The world bank recently reported recently, that 75% of Nigerians in the rural area now live in poverty as at 2025, and even more than previously recorded in the urban areas. |

Only a madman or a paid mouthpiece would claim Tinubu is a democrat. |

![]() Tinubu is a very courageous leader. The removal of fuel subsidy takes courage,if not he will be dilly-dallying like the previous leaders. I was listening to one radio program few days back, one of the in-house analysts said that prior to the May 29th 2023 inauguration, all media houses were given press release on the inauguration speech of the president-elect,but there is no mention of removal of fuel subsidy in the press release. Tinubu have to omit it and play along with the cabals,if not, till today the subsidy will still be in place. |

Yet, you are holding a press briefing while the substantive president is addressing the nation, and the DSS hasn't picked you up. |

Obi is a formidable opponent, yet he has managed to create division within the country, fostering deep-seated animosity among his supporters. While I admire certain aspects of his character, I believe he lacks the capacity to unite Nigeria. His focus seems to be on making political statements to maintain his relevance rather than promoting national unity, despite his aspirations for leadership. I genuinely wish him the best in his endeavors. |

Our current situation as a country is really worrisome. Everyday, things keep getting worse and these political jobbers are in an overdrive to push propaganda for some reasons better known to them. We are on our knees, not in prayer but in punishment of the decision made on behalf of most of us to handover the country to a group of people who knows not what they’re doing. Which way Nigeria? |

The economist, the business goons are commending president Tinubu about his reforms and policies that have been shaping things. Abia state governor, Alex Otti, Anambra state governor Charles Soludo, Top politician in Pdp, Bukola Saraki all commended president Tinubu for the 2 years as president. But see Peter Obi who lack in depth knowledge about economy ( Any economy interview is a disgrace) is saying something else. Go and verify came back to either be fake or incorrect information. Nigerians are waiting for you in 2027, Muslim Muslim ticket, health, Islamitizing Nigeria stories that was used in 2023 have all been bursted to be as usual fabricated |

SeeWahala:The era of ego massaging is gone. Nigerians now know better about who Peter Obi is, how he was packaged to be the best for Nigeria without having any close records of achievements in terms of governance. All this while, Peter Obi has been flying airplane with mouth. His last interview with Rufai about economy exposed Peter Obi as someone who only knows how to criticize but can't proffer solution. They asked him several questions about economy but all his responses are just too low to the extent that a mechanic would explain economy better than Peter Obi |

Democracy is not in decline. Let us have hope. I listened to Peter Obi's June 12th speech. He started by asking for a minute silence for the late M.K.O. Abiola. He then went on to start a song of lamentations about multidimensional poverty, about World Bank statistics, about educational infrastructural decay. He also lamented hunger and unemployment among the youth. He then said Nigeria was a crime scene. He rounded up by saying, "A New Nigeria is Possible". I have my reservations about his speech. 1. Why was it necessary for him to speak? 2. Why does he use every opportunity to demarket the entire country? If you are aspiring to be the CEO of a company like Unilever, Shell, Mercedes, Amazon, etc, go and meet the board and demarket the company in their presence. Call their company a crime scene, and if they give you that job, then the board does not know what they are doing. 3. After his lamentations, he said the president should stop running the country by remote control and stated how long the president has been away from the country. What exactly is Obi's day job? It offends me that a mature man would be counting the trips of someone who is gainfully employed. Politics is not a job. If you lose elections, you return to your regular job until the next elections. You do not constitute a national disturbance. 4. There was a video where he said he had six funerals to attend in one day and say he didn't eat before 1 pm. He also said he didn't eat at funerals. Attending one funeral is already exhausting for me. I once lived somewhere where there was a cemetery opposite my house. Everyday, there was one funeral or the other. I sometimes opened my window to see. The sight was really draining even if I didn't know who was being buried. But someone had six funerals to attend! Doesn't he get exhausted from such outings? 5. After attending funerals, it is not unexpected that one cannot think straight again. I suggest he takes his personal branding seriously. The last interview with Rufai Oseni did not cover him in glory. His speech yesterday was a PR disaster. He needs to take a break, reinvent himself and come back with a bang. If he continues like this, his flaws would become more obvious and people may see through him as they are already doing. |

In as much I like opposition parties. Obi trying to criticize Tinubu's government for sustainability of his relevancy. It's good for democracy and I respect and admire his resilience spirit. |

Democracy is not in decline. The problem is, NIgerians think with their stomachs, and we also have an opposition that in 2023, when there was a clear cut chance that we could kick out APC with the same type of unity APC used against PDP In 2015 , instead divided along ethnic and religious lines, and made it easy for a tinubu and shettima ticket, that SHOULD NOT HAVE WON...because of one religion ...to win. And the problem also is, NIgerians complain all day about APC. When it is time to vote...APC. Nigerian politicans will start off well, then two years into elected office...APC. When people like me say...Hey look at other smaller parties, even Sowore's AA, and even ADC and NRM, and a host of others...you don't have to vote for APC or PDP....dem go laugh, and choose APC. And when you use tribe as your campaign card...I mean LP probably would have won in 2023 if it was not consisting of people who had spent the previous 10 years calling Hausas and Fulanis abusive names, and also calling Yorubas 'ronus' and muslims all sorts of names, and then you expect them to support you 11 months to election? After all the abuse? Right. Also, stomach. Tell me, all those politicans running to APC...Na for STOMACH...not for interests...STOMACH. And the sad thing is, they will get voted in again. STOMACH. I don't know, but until Nigerians are re...well, we know what to do. |
