The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, on Friday, June 13, 2025, arrived at the Federal High Court in Abuja for the continuation of his trial, ABN TV reports.

Kanu, who has been in custody since 2021, was brought to the court under heavy security as supporters and legal representatives gathered for the proceedings.

The court session is expected to continue cross-examination of prosecution witnesses, with the defence team set to present further arguments.

Kanu’s trial, which has drawn both national and international attention, remains a major legal and political development in Nigeria’s justice system.

Over 4 years of trial with no visible progress. What a justice system
No sane Person should support such elongated trial, that's the same fate thousands of Nigerians are going through. Some have been in prison for over a decade still standing trial.

If Tinubu know what is good for Nigeria, he should release Nnamdi Kanu and let his people hold the referendum, which must be in favour of them leaving this British contraption called Nigeria. By so doing, the remaining parts of the country will be free of fake drugs and fake products.

The President should temper justice with mercy and release him with certain conditions. It is important to release him so that the security forces would deal with those causing mayhem in the name of detaining Kanu. If Kanu is released, it would be easier to isolate those causing mayhem in SE in the name of IPOB and Kanu. Nigeria is spending so much in maintaining security personnel in SE, where they are not doing anything.

Suffering because of lopsidedness in a nation, who loves deception more than truth, who loves the oppressors more than their freedom fighters. Terrorists and killers are being celebrated, called repentant, given wives , recruited to the army etc while those who asked fundamental questions about inequalities in our coexistence are being molested and made to suffer. What an irony
Nigeria for once needs, to stop injustice if we are going to survive as a nation.

there was a referendum. Remember when Nnamdi Kanu told all the citizens to return to their homeland? Did they answer him? That is your referendum.
