Iran should just sign the new nuclear deal and improve the economic situation of the country. Any retaliation will lead to massive bombardment from Israel. I don't even think Isreal is done yet.

Almost all the long range ballistic missiles fired at isreal from Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, gaza and Iran are Iranian missiles.
Majorly the funding,intelligence, ammunition of these terror proxies all come from Iran.
Iran has openly stated repeatedly that their mission is to wipe out isreal and isreal also has openly shown they don't fancy the Iranian regime.
Gave them time to negotiate something with America, but all they could come up with is to insult America and threaten isreal.

(Before we continue, I ain't here to argue for either Israel or Iran...this is a discussion on why war is the way it is).

Every nation targets other nations...and yes, generals are targets. Yes, pre-emptive strikes are allowed.

That is why the UN should have stopped this before it happened. That is why the US, Russia and company should have calmed everyone down.
