Therein lies why development will never happen!

This is why despite 25 years of continuous democracy, constituency projects have never brought development to the Local Government and why every year they are still drilling boreholes and putting streetlights and it never ends...cos these funds are used to recoup costs and pay off debts incurred to win seats!

When ypu realise that no politician is in power to help you then youll have peace!

Wonder why Abia is developing now? Cos this governor came to power by the people and not through a godfather so he is putting all the money towards development and not paying a sponsor.

Open your eyes

We all knew they spent a lot of money for election but the figure Alibaba put out there is outrageous shocked
It might cost less in the Northern states, but definitely not in the Southern states. Do you know how much it takes to win party primaries, especially in the PDP and APC? You have to "grease" the palms of all party executives—from the national level down to the ward/unit level—often running into millions. The same goes for the delegates. This is excluding the money spent on community leaders (such as traditional rulers), trade unions, campaign activities, and logistics. And that's not even counting the cost of the general elections. Harrison Gwamnishu reportedly ran into millions of naira in debt when he contested for a House of Assembly seat in Delta State during the last election—to the point that he considered leaving Nigeria.

How did he know this? The okada rider that won an election in Edo state under the LP ,how much did he spend?
That is why it is a one off, consider it a "scholarship" for the LP senators people paid the price

Join politics to make a change .. all this side talks can't fly in the current situation. Join the likes of Obi and Tinubu to influence matters in the.nation. Do so before they dolarise electoral cost. We saw what happened in 2023 primary...it was for cash and carry . Those who determines who gets what are heartless to a point that they can sell their own children to make money

The Politician's made it so.
So that only the Criminals who have looted enough will continue to be in power and recycle themselves.
Have any wonder how Emefiele a public office holder got 100 million in 2023 to buy the APC presidential interest forms and dozens of cars for his campaign?
Yet, no one said anything.

That is why most elections in Nigeria are won by the criminals , those with questionable credentials and questionable wealth. Unfortunately they buy some who lacks conscience to sing their praise. Look around

Until they reduce the salaries of all political office holders to the barest minimum amount of money or even no salaries at all. Then we will see those who wants to view for office genuinely

I beg to disagree, 1.2b can't get u a senatorial seat. Primaries alone may take half of that money.
If u don't 2.5b and above to waste, don't even think of a senatorial seat, although the region matters also

isn't it obvious alli baba is saying the truth but instead of wicked politicians to change, they become hard hearted because of sycophants ass lickers who won't tell them the truth but ass licking because of what they want to eat from them.thats why I told the fellow I quoted enough if the abosi meanwhile if people complain they'll say its because good peop are not coming out to contest for elections but you and I know the good people that have something to offer do not have that amount of naira or acess to billions that they can use in buying expensive forms to contest.hence the politicians keep stealing because they're always gunning for the next office and not the betterment of the people. Let's stop pretending abeg.nothing sycophancy wan give una
