Everyone now knows that the easiest way to be in Tinubu's good side is to pledge allegiance and promise him so so and so number of votes. This is because Tinubu's organic support base is very lean. I mean, they lost all major states in the south and north of the country in the last elections.
This is unlike Buhari who knows that come rain or shine, he has 12m votes in the kitty sitting pretty for him.
This is why Tinubu has to spend so much time and resources weakening the opposition and forcing loyalty, things Buhari never cared for.
You need to hand it to Buhari. He's the most popular politician of this time. Obi is also on that trajectory with his 6m votes in his first outing on a small platform.
