I feel your point, but colonization was from 1800s, before that, it was straight up slavery and exploitation. The spanish, the portugese, the Dutch, the french, and then the English. By mid 1800s, because Britain's strategy was to use the slaves or africans as a boost to their forces, began arming the africans with light ammunitions - not cannon or more sophisticated guns, but Dane guns which the Danish were already doing. Spanish also used their subjects that they conquered to fight other Europeans in americas.


From the 1400s to 1700s, and even early 1800s, africans were breaded on how the colonizers felt would produce the right slaves, so they were needed like dogs, and the slaves during these times were worked to death in the first 2 years, then that colonizer will need a new batch of slaves. This happened until they decided it will be better to colonize Africans in africa, and started coming deeper into the interior of africa - something that the portugese didn't really do that much because they stuck to the areas around the coast of africa.



Back to your point, the illiteracy, incompetence, lack of wisdom, lack of awareness and cooperation amongst africans, was alarming. The high rate of stup*dity amongst africans, was and is still alarming. I don't really blame the colonizers from arab and europe, because what can a sane person be doing with a population of stark dunc^^es. All the african peoples own is to make up useless tradition and use fear to hold the people to it. While their mates were building terrifying ships, africans were looking for how to put fear amongst themselves, even within the same tribes.


Back in the days, arab land and some african lands use to just catch fire by itself, or with the assistance of fire. I can bet my balls that some of those phenomenal, were used to frighten people in the community. But the Europeans, instead of being intimidated, studied it, read books and located anywhere mentioned in the books that had such phenomena, then after years of research and experiments, they came to the conclusion that those areas of concern had oil. That is how oil was found in the middle east and some parts of Africa, until they began having more sophisticated ways to detect and extract oil and gas.

Nobody claimed to have lived above 100 has a birth certificate or at least any documentation issued during time the person was born.
The only criteria used was that the person was born during so and so period according to so and so person or that he/she is order than xyz,who died 10-15 years ago at 90,100 or 110.
