When you go out to play and didn't inform your parents that you were going out.

It is even much worse when you didn't finish doing the house chores before sneaking out to play with friends.

Back to your roadblock, . It's the type that makes you wish you could roll back the hands of time to the moment just before committing the 'crime' and then did the right thing. At those moments, you'd pray hard believing those miracle bible stories you learned in Sunday school, that an angel would come down to save you, but alas, a drop of pee or two would trickle into your pants and then you remember the other kids you played with bragging to you how mum had promised them dinner afterwards or the toys their dad had promised and wondered why your story had to be different, then it dawns on you that there's no escape.

Same here. I had an amazing childhood. Occasional smacks and punishment when we were naughty. A lot of talks and admonishments. I don't remember us being beaten with sticks or any item and we all turned out to be very well-behaved and responsible adults.

Makes me remember my stubborn childhood.

Even though my story is not about sneaking out,but I dey do that often and I dey collect correct beating on top.
My mum is the real African mum,though she is very caring,but she is a disciplinarian.
When we are together with neighbors or outsiders,dem no born you well to do anyhow like asking food or snacks from them,the way she uses eyes to communicate with us,we always decode what she was trying to say,and woe betide you if you act contrary.
I remembered when I was around 6 years,one of our neighbors daddy Wale was eating a boiled corn,I went to stand in front of him,looking him in the eyes,the guy started acting somehow,as if he no wan give me,I stood my ground,I no even send am grin.
All these is happening in the presence of my dearest mom,she is looking at me,I no look her side,my only focus is on the corn.
At last,daddy Wale gave me the remaining corn,I ate it and went somewhere to play.All these happened in presence of other neighbors.
A little while later,my mom called me inside,I no suspect anything,I went inside,she locked the door threw away the key.
The next thing I know was a hot slap,she asked me was,"did I starved you of food?",I shook my head,"so why are you begging for corn?",I no get answer.
Now,the beating started,when she gets angry,anything she laid her hand on will be use as cane,this time,na turnin-stick,I started crying,all the neighbors started banging the door,"mummy dele,open the door""don't beat him again".
For where,she no stop the beating until she got tired.Next thing I heard is:"O ya wa key yen fun mi"(Find the key for me) undecided,the key wey I no know where you troway am when you are angry.I sha found the key under the chair with extra beatings.
I can't forget that day.
Now if any of our children do anything wrong,and we beat them,next thing they will say is "I will tell grandma".
And grandma will be pleading on their behalf,imagine.
Now she is the one spoiling those children.
May God bless her for us.

My mom gave me one remix after we went to our correct family friend birthday party. the celebrant was my best friend oh. Na so I chop 2 plate of rice as per best friend.
The remix started as soon as we got home with no food till the next afternoon.

one experience I had n I will never forget was when they send me to grind pepper,as I exit our compound like this na so I meet my friends we wan go play ball for field.

Na so then tell me say place dey to grind pepper close to field, na so I follow them, on getting to the field na so I put pepper for one side we start to dey play ball.



N u know in street football, u can play for 4 hours n it will b like 5 minutes. Dem don find me tire for house, i didn't know my sister don already come field come carry pepper.

After I play ball finish n I start to dey find pepper, na so some boys wey we Dey play ball together tell me say one light in complexion sister don come carry pepper.

I knew it was my sister, I nearly craze. As I was going home like this it was as if heaven was coming down.


The beating wey I chop for house that day, I can't remember.
