MrSly:
Sell it to make as productive and nigerian NEPA. It is better they are not functioning that function like nigeria NEPA. If anyone wants refinery let them build it like dangote did his. If they must sell the existing refineries it should be to foreigners with no political link to nigeria. Shikina.
Of course NEPA was worse than this with underinvestment in critical energy infrastructure. The best manager remains the private sector and the best are the local private investors. they have the interest on Nigeria more .

Pay offs?so what about if the coy was functional?won't they migrate to the new owners?
The Nigerian factor is always there.
When a new owner takes over an Establishment in Nigeria he will prefer to employ his tribesmen in majority and retrench the former staffs that was there especially management staff.

The new owner will also demand efficiency and productivity from staffs in the workplace and we all know Nigerian civil servants are lazy, love bribes and many don't like going to work regularly especially on Fridays.

The new owners might also not want to pay pensions as Government establishment does after years of service. So to avoid clashes in the future they need to retrench the current staffs or force them to sign new agreements.

When Abuja Electricity Distribution Company acquired NEPA(Abuja District), 100% of the staffs were paid off by Goodluck Jonathan this is what Obasanjo failed to do when he hurriedly sold the refinery

Lies 😁. Reason is the estimated oil price for 2025 was $75 per barrel, which the price has fallen below $60 per barrel. They need to reduce petrol import to to save some dollars and inject it into the economy, else they will be huge deficit and more borrowing 😉. Don't be fooled. If you know you know 😁

But you guys were happy when Yaradua canceled the sale of same refineries. Yaradua set Nigeria back for several years on that singular act
It was a very big error then. It is in the past now. Let's move ahead by selling those assets to sincere business men

Tinubu has zero impact on the reduction of petrol imports in Nigeria, the person you should be thanking is Dangote for setting up his refinery. Tinubus impact in Dangotes business is zero , infact Buhari and Emefiele if any government policy is involved because they are the ones that provided Dangote cheap dollar to set up his refinery.
The rubbish NNPC refineries that Tinubu wasted our our Usd1.5Bn on have all stopped functioning today.
Retain PMS subsidy, roll back the deregulation of the downstream sector and let's see if Dangote will survive.

O.L.O.D.O. You obviously don't understand the meaning of subsidy. No go and double your hustle. All of una dey live fake reality before now - the FG was literally funding the lifestyle of all of you - what we have now after the subsidy removal is the reality of our economic situation, individually and collectively as a nation.

We should not be importing fuel or diesel from anywhere, Our naira will remain comatose as far as we are still importing. .

Stop importation of petroleum products and watch the naira grow even if dangote is the sole producer.

With the coming of BUA and others the sector would be leberalize.

God bless Nigeria

Before end of this administration we are hoping for zero importation.
Only if more refinery springs up.

Ending importation gives dangote absolute monopoly

Our needs are 51 million liters per day...and Dangote can meet half. The other half is met partially by NNPC and mostly by imports.

As for NNPC refineries, you don't understand how 4 decades of NNPC selling mostly at a loss...to help the masses...led to the mess that they are today. That was part of the reason why we were warned as far back as 1992 to remove subsides...when the refineries were still working...to allow the refineries operate at a profit, and pay their own upgrade costs, and maintenance costs.

We said no , and told the IMF to go away. IN 1994, we missed the first TAM....and thus the road to the scrapyards that our refineries are today was begun.
No..dangote can supply all our needs just that the Marketers are reluctant to buy from him..
It’s a good thing to avoid monopoly..import should exist side by side with local refining

All things being equal, local private investors should be the best. But given the fantastically corrupt local politicians there is likelihood of intimidation or connivance to the detriment of the masses but in the hands of foreign investors there may be less intimidation or connivance. Efficiency is also more assured. MTN comes to mind.

Globalcom comes to mind, Dangote, Samad of Bua, etc comes to mind, the Fintech comes to mind.
We should respect what we have in Nigeria. Look at what is going on in the Onshore Oil exploration. Local investors is the sure bet. Nigerians bought Shell out, look at the deal of Wale Tinubu
so many to mention. Do not use the errants of few unscrupulous individuals to define local investors

Fuel nnpc imports is fake fuel, disappears from car tank.

Dangote fuel is far more better than the fuel nnpc imports.

Practical example...buy dangote fuel from MRS,ENYO,HEYDEN etc...into a white gallon and compare the two colors...

Apart from the fact that nnpc fuel disappears and vaporises 3x faster than dangote fuel, you can also see the difference in the color when put into a gallon.

My own point of view, I believe the problem of Nigeria is Nigerians. Imagine civil servants running our economy down because they want to make more money from we the citizens.

Fuel you aere supposed to use longer will dry up sooner, so that you will go buy another one, thereby enriching the wicked scivil.servants (govt worker).
