Popular social media activist, Verydarkman, has paid a visit to Yelewata in Benue State, where over 200 people were reportedly killed in a brutal coordinated attack on Friday night.

News360 Nigeria had earlier reported that tragedy struck when suspected armed herders invaded Yelewata and Daudu communities in Guma Local Government Area, leaving a trail of death and destruction.

Among the victims were Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and five soldiers who were reportedly caught in the violence.

The heartbreaking incident has thrown the entire state into mourning, with survivors recounting horrific scenes of bloodshed and displacement.

This is the more reason why igbos need to be very watchful we don't know If this is retribution for killing of igbos or killing of the Fulanis. Atom kpera from Benue was even among the 5 majors that struck in Jan 15th 1966 , before then there was the Tiv riots that came up and which the prime minister ordered to be fuelled with full force but the Igbo soldier deployed to quell it handled the situation with diplomacy

This is horrific ...it's time for Nigeria to suspend democracy and reset it for 10 years so this country can find it's bearing again , the last set of politicians especially those of APC stock have really failed this country and humanity at large ... they only care about reckless accumulation of material things ..This Yelwata is just 200kms away for Abuja the seat of the president and yet this is allowed to happen

Fulani did not, cannot and will never sack anywhere in the East.

But like I said Benue people took part in killing fleeing Igbo civilians running away from the north to the eastern region during the Biafran war.
Blood calls for blood and until we decide to tell ourselves the truth without minding how bitter, Nigerians will continue like this happening in benue state

A lot of wickedness were done during that war and people haven't healed. There should be a legit reconciliation and discussion one the way forward.
The funny thing is that they prefer the northerners to the Igbos. Politicians and bad propaganda people have really messed up their view about the Igbos.

Pls stop this nonsense. This line of thought make all of us Igbos look stupid and hateful. Fulani herdsmen are in the Eastern part of Nigeria. We are also dealing with bandits, kidnappers and all sorts.
Are those also retribution for fighting to break away?
Eastern part of Nigeria is dealing with drug menace and it’s not funny. Are these retribution for our folks dealing drugs coupled with high incidence of fake drugs and beverages linked to our people.
