Ijaya123:
President Bola Tinubu has announced his resolve to visit Benue on Wednesday following the continued killing of some residents by suspected Fulani pastoralists.
which one is resolve again for visit?

do you need resolve to visit?

is visiting a big deal?

instead using resolve to visit, why not use resolve to identify and arrest the people behind the killings?

Good one by Mr president. #prayforbenue# we all deserve to live.
good one in what way?

what is good about announcing visit?

is it his visit that will make the people safe from their killers or is it his visit that will get the killers?
Re: Tinubu To Visit Benue Wednesday Over Continued Killings by onatisi(m): 4:28pm On Jun 16, 2025
Insecurity will be a big debate and issue in 2027. It will be the deciding factor for the north whether to support Tinubu or north. If the president is serious about winning 2027 ,he needs to do more and arrest the insecurity challenges of the nation.

The presidents of India and co didn't wait for 3 days before visiting the scenes of disasters in their country.

Now you want tilumbu to take a week to (according to you) set up meetings, create schedules, set up security etc before visiting benue that is just less than 1000 kilometers from Abuja abi?

Okay 👍

To visit, isn't this future impossible tense? He need not make announcement, he should have been there since a long time ago. Anyways, what is our politicians business with governance when most of us are political sycophants'?

We are tired of the senseless killings in the country..
You are very correct. My personal friend in Lagos, a very good friend and a brother is a Tiv man from Benue State. He lives at Magboro one of the satellite towns of Lagos in Ogun State. Brother Sebastian is a very good person. Out of deep sympathy and guilty conscience I am ashamed to call him or visit him because I know his psychological state of mind at this point. I feel guilty as a Nigerian watching his kinsmen being killed without any justice.

Air Marshall Alex Barde would have done something if he were to be in position of authority. He tried during Jonathan regime. After retirement, he was killed by Armed Robbers. That is Nigeria, a very complicated country .

Tinubu is going on Wednesday. The COAS went to Benue before the last Sallah festival. After the visit, this massacre happened.

I wish Tinubu a successful visit.

I asked a nairaland member benuejosh questions yesterday he didn't reply for obvious reasons (social media monitoring). I am also being careful. I know the answers to all the questions asked but I am also being careful.

This is not a time for celebration of mentorship or long years of friendship or comradeship when the problems on ground remain unsolved and is becoming more volatile.

The problem a mentor cannot solve, a mentee cannot solve it because of loyalty issue

Many things can't be said online..if you listen to one of the interview of an airforce chief, you will weep for this country because you will just know that they aren't patriotic at all

EyeCumInPeace:
Why can't the president ban open grazing. huh
What's he afraid of. huh
That's the root cause of these conflicts.

If you want to rear cow, buy land and establish a ranch.
The only sin of the Benue people for all this killing is the enactment of the anti-open grazing law, which is the only antidote to the farmers and herder clashes, to the herdsmen it's an afront taken too far and they fear when fully implemented might lead to cessation of the crisis and other states will begin to subscribe to it and it will end the long quest of land grabbing through the back door.

When Mr. Peter Obi said it, he was criticized, but that shouldn’t silence him. In fact, it means he should keep speaking out, because when voices like his are raised, the presidency is forced to act. This is exactly what happened in Niger State—proof that public pressure drives accountability. All the same, this is good news, and it reinforces the importance of holding leaders to their duties.
