Is your DS160 Lagos or Abuja? If it’s Lagos I doubt you’ll be interviewed but please call the embassy to confirm this information.

So changing 221g interview location is not allowed. Heard back from avits.

You must not be aware of the fact that interview location can be changed but a new ds160 form will have to be created with that location.

It’s a 221g interview not a first timer interview. Did you also read what he wrote and are you aware it’s 221g interview.
His situation informed my response.

It happened to one of my cousins last year but her case was like she was watching television when she mistakenly clicked cancel.

You were supposed to click reschedule not " cancel. Having clicked that cancel you are very likely going to pay another MRV (visa fee). 👍

Am having difficulty making payment and generating code on the avits portal in nigeria.... the generate button is not giving me further details. It just remains on the page.... I tried using my card to make payment... am also not able to pay... it says error... can someone please assist?

You are having difficulty in making payment and generating code on the avits portal in your profile not in Nigeria because it is your mistake.

** Cancel all the pending appointment and start all over. B4 you start again make sure that you have filled and finally submitted your ds 160. Also choose physical bank payment. It's not compulsory you pay with card. You may screenshot your dashboard for clarification.

** If it persist then cancel pending appointment in your present avits profile and abandon it by opening another profile entirely and start all over. 👍

I made a visa payment on the AVITS portal two weeks ago via online transfer to First Bank Direct, but the payment is yet to be confirmed, and I am unable to book an appointment. I have raised a ticket on the AVITS portal with no response, sent emails to nigeria@usvisaappt.com and LagosNIV@state.gov without receiving feedback, and contacted the First Bank Contact Centre, providing all the necessary details, but still received no assistance.

I also entered the reference number and date under the bank deposit details, which showed "bank details updated successfully," but the page then redirects back to "generate deposit slip." I have also called +234 201 343 8900 all to no avail. Does anyone know how long it takes for Visa payment confirmation on the AVITS Portal?

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is there anything else I should do? I would appreciate your assistance.

I have a similar issue, I think the problem is from the bank. They just informed me that the payment has been returned because it didn't "impact the visa payment system" after a lot of back and forth with them. I even had to go to first bank to file a complaint

I have paid my visa fee last week Thursday and today is the fourth day. I have not been able to verify my payment, and hence not able to book appointment . I transferred the fee from my uba account to the first bank account details that I saw on the USAVITS portal. Who can explain this or someone has experienced this. Even the support service is not given me good feedback

Is it safe to do that pls cos I don’t want to forfeit the large sum I paid for my wife and myself.

A tip though, if do get someone older ensure you get them checked especially if they are diabetic and or have hypertension so they can take their meds and you do regular BP monitoring.

A lot of Nigerians have undiagnosed hypertension or simply don't take their meds

If it is avits support that is telling you to do that, nobody here can advice you or give you better info than them. They work directly with the embassy. Do as they say you should.

Don't follow the customer helpline from avits (ticket raising feedback) as they are not the one to sort out MRV payment issues. U.S embassy has a way of sorting out or verifying all mrv payment issues internally.

In this respect, you have to follow the instructions of VISA NAVIGATOR by emailing the U.S embassy directly. If you cancel that appointment you will very likely pay another visa fees. 👍

Your own response was directly from the U.S. embassy in Lagos and they referred you back to AVITS (your dashboard) because they have notified avits or they thought it is the duty of the support team helpline.

For clarification, this is the only email directed to avits

nigeria@usvisaappt.com any other email like LagosNIV goes internally to the sightseeing of the embassy officials. U.S embassy investigates MRV payment themselves because they are guiding against fraud. Thank you for the awareness sir. 👍

I was at OIS yesterday to drop my passport for visa renewal via IW. The lady who attended to me said in three weeks I should start checking the link to see if my passport is ready for pickup. I told her I am aware that these days the visa applications are taking longer than they used to and asked her to just tell me straight the real timelines and she said six weeks. Let's see how it goes.

Just a little update on my application.

IW passport submission: May 30th
Case created: June 2nd
Case last updated: June 2nd

Email received on June 18th

This is same response i got, did you make payment as well and how is it when you cancel and create new sir/ma? Did it work out fine. Tho I’ve sent out email to all the mails I got on this site before I make any move
