Sasaele24:You just have to be patient, i know it is not easy but you just have to as it might impact your mental health. Order another gcms note, raise webforms, try to make it more compassionate about how the delay is taking a toll on you. |

Please a colleague wants to do her ECA with Wes. Hee educational documents bear her maiden name. She is married now and her passport was done with her husband's name. Please what name should she use to open her Wes account. She has her marriage certificate and affidavit |
| Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by Ontarioo: 1:07pm On Jun 18, 2025 |
ananne:Use the current name on the passport. WES will not ask you to choose between either name, but your evaluation will come out with your maiden name that you used in the school (name on the certificate)

Hamza05:Does knowing French significantly improve my chances? I’m considering enrolling in a French class to boost my immigration prospects—unless the Australian PR pathway offers better opportunities for my profile. In that case, I’d prefer to focus on that instead of learning French. My profile: • MSc in Computer Science • 2 years of work experience as a DevOps Engineer • IELTS score of 8.5 across all four bands • Recently turned 30 My wife’s profile: • Recently turned 23 • BSc in Public Health • IELTS score of 7.0 across all four bands • No work experience Also, are there great opportunities for IT positions in Canada, as a few persons I’ve spoken to usually complain of the difficulties of landing a job in their field. |

She is separated so she will be going alone with her kids. If she maxes out her celpip, she will be around 470 to 475. She works as front desk teller and other banking roles unless I ask her. but she has been working for almost 10 years. I dont have a PR but i think she has the age on her side and education so I want to help her. Are there roles that bankers in Naija can use. amnotapervert: |
| Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by amnotapervert(m): 8:16pm On Jun 18, 2025 |
mrlycan:475 is considered very low in today’s context. Even the lowest healthcare draw on June 28, 2023, had a cutoff of 476. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/policies-operational-instructions-agreements/ministerial-instructions/express-entry-rounds.html She has two options: Look for a PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) to increase her points. However, this is becoming increasingly difficult as most PNPs now prioritize internal candidates — those who studied and are currently working in the province — or focus on specific categories such as healthcare and construction workers. by the way you see those Indian students protesting for changes in PNP have made a lot of programs close Learn French. As unfortunate as it may sound, the French-speaking draws had a cutoff as low as 336 on February 29, 2024, with the highest being 478 on November 15, 2024. You don’t need to be an expert — just achieving an average proficiency can get you into the draw. Some people are even going to places like the French village in Cotonou for six months to learn the language. It’s sad, but the reality is that PR points for people outside Canada are not going to drop any time soon. |

I think passing ielts might be the easiest step in this whole PR thing cos reading through people's experience here and the waiting process ain't easy at all. Most times some just give up on the whole canadian thing, but what's beautiful is really that ability to wait and see it Bloom, it's quite a volatile process as new things come up everyday and nothing guaranteed. We just hope it favours us all and we share our testimony in the end. |

Yes, with all you listed your CRS should be in 490 and above actually, cos you have Msc, high ielts score, , 2yrs full time work experience coupled with your spouse, the only thing you might mention is your age but you are 30 which is still okay. Lastly you are in STEM, please your chances are high trust me, just be patient but if you can learn french go ahead. DevSecOps: |

DevSecOps:My advise would be for you to study page 1 from post 1 to post 6 and the FAQs...really STUDY it. For context - candidates younger than 30 with a Masters degree, 3 years work experience, no Canadian sibling or Canadian work experience, who max IELTS (10 all round) and whose spouse has a BSc and also maxes IELTS have a CRS of 482. There has been no general draws with that score in.... I don't know how long. Most draws have been PNP, CBD (French and selected NOCs and CEC). Best bet is to learn French (CLB 7 will give you 42 extra points) or go to Post 2 & use the CRS calculator to see where you can increase points to be invited to a category based draw e.g. Healthcare. Also read FAQ 8 and explore PNPs that may work for candidates outside Canada. There is also a link on Post 2 showing the history of draws so you know what you're up against and how to position. Aim for max scores in IELTS. Wifey only qualifies for Express Entry with at least 1 continuous year of work experience. Goodluck! |

DevSecOps:For the first part, play around the crs calculator tool https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/check-score.html And for the highlighted part, STEM is not part of the in-focus categories for the category based draws as a result of saturation. |
