qtguru:Women and their problems. Is cold emailing legal in Europe, I know it works fine in Africa and north America, but for Europe I don't know, cos I remember my German boss telling me that Europe has so many laws like that so reaching out randomly to leads can earn you a court case. |

Nazgul:That's the first I've heard of, but i did reach out to a german client and I did her job. |

qtguru:Wao. Maybe I didn't get the context of his message. He's always very cautious even during projects. He would say it's illegal to advertise projects you did for a company to another company when looking for leads. Well I've never lived in Europe so maybe he has has his reasons why he does such. |

Hi everyone I’m a level 2 Seller on fiverr but haven’t had success on upwork because of the difficulty of buying the connect thing. Now I have a virtual Payoneer card and intend to buy connect with it. Here’s my issue 👇 I learn that an upwork account can be suspended if one buys connect with our local debit cards. Does that extend to virtual Payoneer cards too? Is it even possible to use the virtual Payoneer card to buy connects? I’ll greatly appreciate if anyone can help provide a detailed solution here. Thanks 🙏 |

Zackattack:To be honest with you I have no idea cos I've never bought connects before with any of those methods. When I joined upwork last year, I was given 120 free connects, which I immediately used in submitting proposals. Fortunately, I got a job before exhausting the free connects. December last year was when I bought connects for the first time on upwork. ($45 for 300 connects) and I didn't use any debit card. Since I was already working on upwork, I just use a part of the money I was paid to buy. And fortunately I got another job again that December. Since then I've not bought connects. I just use the 10 free ones I get every month along with the remaining ones from the purchase I made December to apply for one time gigs. |

Nazgul:You are right, I checked it up recently, and it's kinda illegal to send Cold DM, there's the first time i'm hearing this. |

Luckily my JSS grew back to 69% and it might likely move above 70% since I've gotten some new gigs, so I am grateful that worked out for me. |

qtguru:I told you...I heard it from my boss (German) that man is as cautious as anything I've ever seen. qtguru:Great. Good luck ahead. |

Jaycobbs:Private Feedback hurt me, but I still have existing clients with high earning, meaning anything above 600$ and long-term client so that helped me |

Nazgul:How did you land your first contract please. I have 120 free connects. Now remaining 90 cos Im scared to even apply for jobs so I don't waste them. I've applied for 3 jobs with 20 connects without any feedback |
| Re: Upwork Thread (Questions/Help/Advice) by Jaycobbs(m): 1:15pm On Jun 13, 2025 |
Error401:I'd advice you go for low competition jobs. If you don't have rep on the platform, then don't go for the big jobs yet. Remember, I said low competition not low price though sometimes the low competition comes with low prices. A lot of the time, though, they'll be weird jobs nobody can do. But if you can do them, that's money in the bank for you. Search for your niche. Choose the filter "less than five". Find a job you think you can handle. Save it. To validate whether it's really low competition, don't apply for the job yet. Wait for five to ten hours and then come back to check how many people have applied. If it's still less than five, then it's truly low competition. You can save many jobs like that then leave them for a while and come back to check. Next, check if the client is a serial poster without hiring anyone. If a person has 3 to 5 jobs and hasn't hired anyone, that's not a good sign. Check their previous job posts to know how many people applied and if they interviewed anyone. If they just post for fun, they're not worth your time. Remember. All this research is before applying so you don't waste your connects. Next, check when last the client viewed the job. If there has been a 24 hour gap and the client last checked recently, like an hour ago or three hours ago, then you know they're actively looking for talent to carry out the job. That means they really need the service. After all this, if the job meets these criteria, then write the proposal of your life. Write a killer proposal. Show workings. Share proof of what you can do. Make sure you show past work that's as similar to the job as possible. If you do this, there's an 80% chance your proposal would be viewed. If you have set up your profile well and your proposal is really good, then you're likely going to get an interview from that. After that, it's your job to lose because there's not many people applying for the job so they can't be very picky. It takes time to find good prospects, but it saves your connects and as you know, those are quite expensive. Anyway, that's my two cents ✌🏻 |

Zackattack:Hello, get Geegpay virtual dollar card, I used it to buy upwork connects and it worked. |

superCleanworks:Motion graphics designer. Since May 2019. I’m supposed to be top level since I’ve met all the requirements, but my success score is 8. |

Zackattack:Wow. Seems I will have to leave my writing niche and look for something more valuable to learn. I hardly ever get jobs as a Nigerian but I remember when I opened profile as an American, the jobs were coming in rapidly till it was time for verification. Same thing as when I opened a French profile. |

| Re: Upwork Thread (Questions/Help/Advice) by Nazgul: 12:19pm On Jun 17, 2025 |
Error401:To add to what @Jaycobbs said... Look at the picture below. Interviewing 361 candidates. Over 50 proposals submitted. 0% hire rate. Yet he hasn't found a suitable candidate out of the 400+ proposals sitting in his email. Situations like this can be frustrating most especially when you're trying to find your feet on upwork. I read about people complaining about how they spent their hard earned connects applying for proposals and yet zero feed back. Unfortunately, most of them are victims of these kinds of clients. So make sure you don't waste your connects by falling into the trap of applying for roles like this when it's clear that the client isn't ready to hire. Always check their hire rate and make sure it's at least 70% and above. Anything below that is a waste of your precious connects.

Hello, please I need some help. Who has had their account flagged by Fiverr and how do you go about it? I am a level 2 seller and my account was flagged recently. I am skeptical of contacting support so what can I do? I appreciate every response |

yorhmienerd:My account has been banned before and I was able to get it back. First of all what was the reason behind it? |

dreamxhaser:They did not give me any specific reason. How were you able to recover the account? did you send them a mail? I was flagged and removed from the fiverr ads system |
