I think mosquitoes work 24/7 except they want to rest. The reason why you feel they don't work in the day time is because of the light, they thrive in darkness so when they see light they go and hide. They don't like bright light.

As for mosquitoes, at UNIPORT teaching hospital, Port Harcourt, it was those years from 6am to 6am.I don't know if it is still the same now. Last time I went there was in 2012.

Yes. They can. I have always been an advocate of mosquitoes eradication. I don’t think this is our priority. More so, lobbyist won’t let us eradicate them. International pharma companies won’t love it. They see Africa as their testing and selling ground for their anti malaria drruugs. Same thing goes for our local pharma companies and our doctors. They don’t pray we eradicate mosquitoes. God knows how many anti malaria medications that have been sold today.
It has turn many house owners to stop building balcony or veranda because you can’t sit out at night.

Flies don't disturb in my house.

No standing water, no open bin with leftover food, no animals. All strong smelling food like dried proteins in covered containerrs.

Remove their breeding grounds and watch them disappear.

Even roaches, na once once I dey sight dem.
Those ancestral baskards can even survive by eating clothes and paper.

You're right..

Once a person lives in a place that is fully cemented with no space for sand or garden or grass and has no dogs or animals.. that person will not see flies again.

For mosquitoes and cockroaches the person will need windows with mosquito nets and fleet every 5 days.

At least flies help in decomposition process, I'm yet to know any use of the mosquito. Anybody knows it's use? Then, it's only in the north I see flies at night. Bauchi & Kaduna precisely.
