Police Say Pastor Held ‘Prohibited Stun Gun’ In Viral Video

The Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, has been granted bail by the police following questioning over a viral video showing him holding a gun-like object.

The Lagos State Police Command disclosed this in a statement after questioning the cleric who turned himself in on Tuesday.

According to the police, Adefarasin was interrogated and he volunteered a cautionary statement to the police investigators.

It added that a stun gun was recovered from the cleric.

“What was recovered from him, the gun-like object seen in the viral video, is not a lethal weapon or firearm but a stun gun which is a prohibited anti-riot equipment.

“The pastor has been granted bail while investigations continue into the case,” the statement read in part.

Responsible citizens should be given guns. As it is now criminals and terrorists have all the guns, good Nigerians don't have any, this is wrong.

When you hear Nigerian police say grant him bail, it means they have made money out of the situation for themselves.

DPO of the area where the thing happened and Lagos State Commissioner of Police have cash out.

That's why it's difficult to take your matter to police station, they're there only to make money for themselves

Last December a guy from next street jumped into a house in my own street and stole every valuable items except the CCTV camera watching him. He was taken to police station for prosecution only for us to see the guy come back with his fellow agberos 3 days later to threaten the person they robbed.

Nigeria is called the most corrupt country in the world for a reason, it's a dog eat dog out here.

These laws need to be revised. Herdsmen are allowed to use cutlasses, sticks etc o protect themselves from hazards of the bushes.
There are hazards in the city which one needs protect themselves from. A stun guns, pepper sprays and such should not be outlawed.

Meanwhile the rich and politicians behind the corners are allowed to carry more dangerous weapons like AKs.

What was his motive for conspicuously displaying that gun on camera?

He was not under any real threat but was simply trying to show off, which is very unwise of him.

He needs to learn some lessons in humility.
