Lol... The one wey tire me pass na Ekiti.... If no be over do, how is Ekiti, a small state without any tangible industries, institutions, and organizations be generating more vat than Ogun, Nasarawa, and so on.. No wonder things are outrageously expensive in Ekiti.

I hope this new vat sharing formulae would correct some anomalies.

That same SE region is the most boastful. It even generated lower than region (NE) suffering from insurgency.

Is that why some states like Oyo generates more VAT than several states combined in Nigeria.

Note Oyo generates more IGR than the entire 5 SE states combined. Comments like yours encourages mediocrity.

When other state governors are out there promoting their states to investors, others are just useless. Stop encouraging mediocrity.

Note that the SW region also has the highest HDI in Nigeria.

Irrespective of indices used in collation of the data either on production, head office location or consumption SW will come first take Lagos, Oyo and Ogun in term of population, landmass and location of industries as a yardstick. Which region will match that?

This matter go go far oooo keenly watching for the response to this.

Clearly, the South East needs to proclaim one Nigeria from housetop to housetop. One has to be Uber dull not to see this.

High GDP per capita ensures they can afford those items hence the consumption.

Just like Newyork, Texas, California e.t.c in the US. They deserve their flowers.

All illiterate agbado APC ronu economists do not know what VAT is. They will just type something for you guys in your WhatsApp groups and you will download and run along with it without proper research. VAT is called value added tariff and it is wrongfully collected in Nigeria. VAT should be collected at the point of consumption or service delivery and not at the point production. If you produce and nobody consumes, will there be a VAT in the first place?
If consumers abandon what you produce and focus on other producers, the abandoned producer will not have any VAT to remit.
We all know that production in Nigeria favours only the industrialised region of the country backed up by colonial and post colonial regimes.
If not for oil in the Niger Delta, there will still be no VAT to be reported from there.
This statistics is not a true reflection of the economic situation of the regions but of course, it has made an attempt to highlight regions with more productivity.
Now the big question is, how can we make the whole country viable and not just a few regions?
