When President Ramaphosa visited Mthatha after the floods in South Africa, there were no drums. No staged crowds. No rented cheers. Just presence, silence, and action. When Prime Minister Modi went to the site of a crash, no one lined up to welcome him. He came, he mourned, he acted. That is what leadership looks like in moments of pain.
We must ask ourselves: What kind of people have we become?

If the only thing you could take from Obi’s entire message was the agbada analogy, then you’re the one who's clearly shallow and slow.

A tragic event occurred that shuld prompt a solemn respectful visit. Instead the governor chose to organize a concert to 'welcome' Mr President. People were paid to cut grass and sweep yhe streets, welcome posters were plastered everywhere and crowds, possibly including cultural dancers, were lined on the streets to celebrate the president's arrival during a time of mourning.

The reason we’re stuck with such dumb and insensitive leaders who prioritize political sycophancy over human lives is because ee have so many slow people like you who defend every absurd action out of blind political loyalty.

what will the elders committee do?

an estimated 1,043 nigerians have been killed in benue since may 2023 to may 2025.

what was tinubu doing in the last 2years when this number of people were being killed?

is it elders committee that will fish out the killers, arrest them and prosecute them?

Are you happy that children were lined up in the rain to welcome the president in Benue on a solemn visit? It looked like a carnival instead of a visit to a state that had had at least 200 residents who were massacred. It is wrong.

The mourning cloth is what I disagree with. But every other hongs he said was correct. However, the president said what he needed to say and brought up the solutions to it.

I felt this deep pain in my heart when I saw what they state govt did to welcome Mr President. The question I ask myself is, this man (Governor) is also a priest?

Even more heartbreaking is the role of the State. Rather than been in mourning mood and weeping declared a public holiday, not for reflection or prayer, but to organize fanfare. Schools were shut down. Children who should be mourning their slaughtered classmates, and parents were instead lined up under the rain, rehearsed to sing and dance for the President. In what kind of country does this happen?

one thing i know is this insecurity issue will come back big time to hurt tinubu reelection ambitions, the fact that people are decamping today doesn't mean they can't defect again tomorrow if they feel the pulse of the people is against them
