| Re: Marketers Consult Foreign Traders For Cheaper Fuel Imports by maxiuc(m): 7:52am On Jun 19, 2025 |
This is what marketers should be doing let them expose dangote, because I don't know why fuel that locally refined should be sold more than 600 per liter, though these marketers are part of the problems but I want them to compete with dangote refinery |
| Re: Marketers Consult Foreign Traders For Cheaper Fuel Imports by nairalanda1(m): 7:54am On Jun 19, 2025 |
In other words, import more poor quality fuel into Nigeria. Which is what we did under subsidy, in order to keep subsidy costs low...yet some people want subsidy back. |

maxiuc:Because it costs more than 700 Naira to produce a liter of fuel? |
| Re: Marketers Consult Foreign Traders For Cheaper Fuel Imports by cunny88(m): 7:55am On Jun 19, 2025 |
What exactly is holding them from going ahead. Fuel at 550/600 will go along way to reduce the suffering of the masses and cushion inflation effects |

Let's assume there's no Dongote refinery, would we get PMS at the current price by now? Like for Dongote share for Marketers |

maxiuc:Read again. So these marketers actually knew right from time that there's an option of importing cheap fuel from foreign market but they refused. Read it again |

The oil marketers must be sick in the head for leaving local producers to be hell-bent on importation. They should know that they can't win the battle of competition, NNPC can't even do it. Bunch of subsidy thieves |
| Re: Marketers Consult Foreign Traders For Cheaper Fuel Imports by spiSeyi: 8:00am On Jun 19, 2025 |
Just to sabatoge Dangote laudable investment of delivering fuel with CNG trucks and selling on credit to the downstream sector which will make life easier for the common man, and drastically reduce inflation . It is high time that PBAT start taxing fuel imports if you can't buy your fuel locally you pay VAT on fuel. Oil marketers are our greatest enemies how can imported fuel be cheaper if not for corruption ![]() |

The FG should tame the marketers before they will start bringing in bad fuel into the country. |

Oil-Marketers Are the Real Enemies of Nigeria! They don't want our Local Refineries to Work,a they preferred - Importations - which they have been doing since Decades - just for their Selfish reasons. They Normally collude with Other Labour Organisations to Deceive Nigerians but their real Objectives - to Manipulate the System - for their Advantages. |

| Re: Marketers Consult Foreign Traders For Cheaper Fuel Imports by nwirinedu(m): 8:29am On Jun 19, 2025 |
Why are these marketers pusing the import narrative? Are they really committed to cheaper prices of fuel for the massess. The ongoing war between Israel and Iran will drive up prices of oil leading to higher import cost. Our current exchange rate wont make imports cheap either. These people are crooks. if they re sincere about lowering the cost of fuel they should partner with Dangote and stop looking for how to steal forex. |

Dangote and these marketers don’t have Nigerians at heart, because people at the corridors of power are wicked and heartless! |

Bluntemperor:The problem actually comes from the delayed removal of subsidy. Had subsidy been removed in 1992, when we got the first clear warning from IMF...by now, we would have been self sufficent in domestic refining. Maybe dangote would have been part of many local refineries. IN 2011, when GEJ wanted to remove subsidy, 60 people had licences to build refineries. Na we Nigerians come say NO to subsidy removal...so that meant that anyone wanting to site a refinery here would not get loans and financing because of the risk of loss of money. Only Dangote had the collateral needed to build a refinery without the banks worrying about their investment. That's why today he is the only local refinery. And since he cannot meet local demand ...imports would have to come in, and since the imports cannot compete with dangote.... |

You guys are the problem with Nigerias oil and gas sector. Thankfully dangote is here to take you guys off business. |
| Re: Marketers Consult Foreign Traders For Cheaper Fuel Imports by unite4real: 8:43am On Jun 19, 2025 |
maxiuc:How did you come about the N600. Do you have the cost of producing 1 litre? I think it's best to know the cost of production and then we can tell if the markup is too much or not. I understand that the margin in the oil and gas industry are quite small |
| Re: Marketers Consult Foreign Traders For Cheaper Fuel Imports by Adeoye11(m): 8:57am On Jun 19, 2025 |
In this oil sector region ehn the more you look , the more you have to look deeper because what's the news up here now? Competition or beef with dangote? Because how on earth will marketers be pointing to dangote when they are about to go waste dollars outside importing? Ok so you mean dangote should sell fuel at 50naira right ? Something must be dancing on such a fellow head . If marketers want well for the country and the masses, they should find a way to build, support more local refineries that can stand the test of time and deliver quality products. But until then let us manage what we have at least it's going better than it used to be in the past. Let them deliver quality products to the masses in their plan to import 550 as this will put dangote on his toes while fastracking local refineries construction. Well what's even "marketers" if not Government sabotage in disguise. |
| Re: Marketers Consult Foreign Traders For Cheaper Fuel Imports by fxexperts: 9:03am On Jun 19, 2025 |
maxiuc:People like you are the problem of this country. Infact FG should raise taxes on all importnated petrol products to ensure Dangote petrol will be the cheapest. Peakdesign23:You are very correct. |
| Re: Marketers Consult Foreign Traders For Cheaper Fuel Imports by Heffalump(m): 9:04am On Jun 19, 2025 |
Nothing like cheaper fuels. It it's cheap, then quality is compromised. The Octane rating will be very low. Now, marketers want to flood the Nigerian market with poor quality fuels that burn very fast. |
| Re: Marketers Consult Foreign Traders For Cheaper Fuel Imports by bigpicture001: 9:04am On Jun 19, 2025 |
maxiuc:See the reason it should be sold higher than 600naira.. 1. It is expensive bro explore, most of it's exploration are done by the white own oil firms in the Niger delta.. 2. The currency used in payment of the whites who do the exploration is hard currency 3. The refining is also expensive as thousands of jobs are need to make it happen... Remember the more hands u need to run the refinery, the wages u pay.. I mean big wages oo 4. The transportation network to deliver the product to it's desired location is expensive... 5. The raw minerals itself is expensive, like the crude oil 6. There is a huge FG tax on it's production... Dangote paid 240billion naira on tax alone last year, now a business man hands the tax to the consumer 7. The money used in setting the refinery up is expensive as most business are run by loans.. and interest rates are high.. Now , u know why it is expensive..? |
