I can see Literacy rate by Ethnicity Yoruba (15-25 years ) Female is represented, while Male is not, meaning it's quite lower than Female.

Well it's expected, because someone of them are at the bus-stop collecting money from motorist. AKA (owo-mi-da) meaning, where's my money grin

To be honest, Yorubas are good in investing in the private university ownership business, all thanks to Winners, Redeem and Seventh Day Adventist that opened their eyes to the lucrativeness of private university ownership business.

I am using this opportunity to appeal to our wealthy Yoruba men and women, please come to Southeast and invest in university business. Southeast is a very fertile region for university ownership business. Check all higher institution enrollment statistics, they all support my claim, come to Southeast and invest, stop being scared of coming to Southeast to invest only to turnaround tomorrow to claim Igbos don't sell lands to none Igbos, We do. I personally have versed plots and hectares of lands to sell to highest bidder in Owerri, Enugu, and few at Awka.

You will never regret coming to Southeast to invest in university ownership business, remember you guys have a competitive advantage in that particular business, so capitalize on it and take over Southeast and other regions. American investors are never scared to invest in any country or region, even in war torn and crises ravaged countries, only cowards give excuses for not exploring business opportunities in other regions and terrains
This is the right mentality. I laugh at Yoruba who attack Igbo businesses in the SW. Encourage investments in your region that will create jobs and opportunities.

It's weird considering the fact that with these stats, one would think the SW would be leading in education in this country
Believe the fake stats at your own peril, sir.

Many so-called universities in Ogun State are nothing more than oversized concrete gates guarding a couple of lonely brick-and-mortar huts — glorified illusions of academia parading as institutions of higher learning.
The pain is obvious. Let it all out. You may use this handkerchief. It will help you.

The literacy rate in the SW has declined due to the ineffectiveness of the SW political class. The good news is that the literacy rate in the SW remains over 80%, and a change in leadership can help address these failures. Well done SE/SS in keeping the literacy at the top.

We love education or we are blind consumers?

What is the impact of all these universities?
They keep young people off the street, create jobs for lecturers and administrators and provide business for landlords, or you would rather they herd cattle like Fulani in the North.

This is why I always say Ogun state lack visionary leaders. They have what it takes to complete with Lagos, highest number of universities, highest number of factories and industries etc, yet they are so backward. Have the poorest road network.

Wow sw states loves education no be small. what of private polytechnics too ?
Yes but unfortunately is not transformed into practicals such as industrialisation and job creation, they are mainly for financial gains as well as profit making. Ekiti state has many professors probably the highest in number but visit the state you wil be shocked their their are no manufacturing industries because their theoretical background were never translated into practical.

It is wrong to use percentages to analyze data and statistics...

the SW has a higher population than the SE so when you use percentages the result will wrongly show the SE with a higher position.

if imo state population is 5,400,000 then that = 5,400,000 * 96% = 5,184,000 literates

lagos state population is 22,000,000 then that = 22,000,000 * 96% = 21,120,000 literates

from the above, can you tell which state has a higher number of literate peoplehuh

from the same chart you are using even Oyo state has more literates than Imo that is in 1st position.

Oyo state population is 8,540,000 then that = 8,540,000 * 80% = 6,832,000 literates

Maybe two or three fits into your description. Private universities in ogun are top notch. Covenant, Babcock, bells, mountain top, crescent, just to mention a few are doing very well

The list is bull crap. I know several states with private universities that are not listed there. For example, the American University of Nigeria, Yola is in Adamawa state.
University of Mkar in Benue state.
Or is it Birnham university in Nassarawa state?

If the SW is getting it wrong, let's call it out and fix the problem. The situation is not as bad as the North's and can be easily reversed with the introduction of free universal education and primary health care.

The only thing that can stop SW is war or pandemic or over-pricing due to foreign countries building schools in SW and setting $10,000 per term .. the private education infrastructure that SW have built and own is plenty for the SW to get it wrong.

every part of the SW cannot get it right at the same time... this is the mistake people are also making with Nigeria because they expect all parts of Nigeria to get it right together which is impossible..

the parts of SW that are getting it wrong should be called out while the parts of SW that are getting it right should keep on improving.
