We have implemented a minimum post size of 40 characters in order to improve our content quality. We want people to patiently compose substantial replies before hitting the submit button. Based on your feedback, we may increase or decrease the limit in the future.

We have also extended the blocking period between members to 3 weeks, because many Nairalanders felt that the previous duration was too short.

Our automated system for dealing with spam and toxicity is now much smarter than it was in the beginning. It's now much less likely to take action against innocent posts. Alas, it is still far from perfect, so please be patient with us as we strive to make it more perfect.

AI just took some mod's job. Time to have AI institutes so we all can boost productivity with it instead of crying about it.
Meanwhile i have to add that AI still has bias for certain user accounts. I can't post certain things here with this account but when passed to other accounts, can be posted. Maybe AI considers banning history of users individually when scrutinising posts.

Imagine getting like 10 notifications for a mention and non of those mentions are seen cos of anti spam bot

Imagine someone asking for a simple solution to a problem or advice and you will hardly see one reasonable reply out of ten. Its crazy

Some folks will still type dash dash dash like this - - - - - - - - - - - - - till it reaches 40 just to book 1st to comment. How will you deal with such people?

It is totally unnecessary to limit the intention and creativity of nairalanders.

I can choose to express myself in any form and in any way necessary.

I think it would be better if the former rules of engagement are brought back.

You need to ban bots in the forum with inflated likes. Also you need to add dislike button. this has been emphasized on for a long time and nothing has been done

I hope Nairaland can take a snippet on how Reddit is run. What I notice is that comments aren't ordered on the basis of 'first come first serve' but comments are ordered using certain parameters. For instance the comment below me: 'E no concern me. Anything wwy una like make una do. E no change the cost of foodstuffs in the market.'. This kind of comment shouldn't be on the front row because:
1. It's irrelevant to the discourse
2. It's a digression
3. It's likely to make some guests or some sort of elitism individuals to lose interest in the site.

We need polls on this site. It is a great engagement tool and that feature will help alot, especially in Sports and Education section, etc.'.
The above comment ought to definitely make front page because:
1. It's relevant to the discourse
2. It sparks up new and reinvigorating ideas that can help augment the discourse.
