I don't even understand this Pele hype. In 1958, Pele was not the top performer for Brazil. The likes of Didi, zico and others were the top performers. In 1962, Garrincha was the stand out player. Pele was injured for most part of the event. It was only in 1970 that Pele shone brightly. Messi has shone in all Argentina campaigns at the world cups bagging two golden ball winner ( best player award winner of world cup twice) a feat Pele will never achieve
