As an avid reader, war historian and military researcher of many years, I want to share my personal findings on global military ranking.


My findings is not in tandem with the popular globalfirepower.com current ranking of nations' military capability of 2025.


I am aware that globalfirepower uses certain indices like active soldiers, military wares (air, land and sea) plus other factors to arrive at their ranking of top nations with highest military firepower.


In my own personal research that led to this ranking, I examined the below factors:

1.) Active and reserved soldier population
2.) National population
3.) Military weapons and wares (land, air and sea)
4.) Active war experience
5.) Economic strength (national poverty and comfort)
6.) Global allies and reach.



Before I unveil my ranking, let me give you a preview of my experience in this field.

I am a natural lover of military and war history; I started reading about wars when I was in JSS2. The first war history I read was about the Nigeria-Biafra civil war, then the world war II, the Korean war, US civil war, the Vietnam war, etc and gradually I advanced to watching world war documentaries and movies and from then my interest in war history and global politics became so obvious to virtually all my family members to the extent I wrote my first novel which centered around the Nigeria-Biafra civil war.


Gradually, I started searching for international platforms to express my views and opinions on global political events, that was how I became a popular writer on an American online journal such that whatever happened in Africa, they always called upon me for comment and further findings. I made money from it, it helped me a lot to move to the next stage in my life. Writing is good especially if you are a natural writer that write for passion.


From there, I launched my global writing career and started publishing Kindle books on Amazon Kindle, lulu, Google, Apple, and so many other platforms that earned me residual incomes till date. I encourage every youth to explore these side hustle.



Ever since then, I have taken short courses on writing and journalism and have been nominated for some global awards, though I didn't win any, I always come close, maybe my village people were still tracking me back then


I plan to enroll for a full university course in Global history and anything related to war, I have several qualifications in different fields and still plan to have more



Now let's jump straight to my global military power ranking by nations:



1.) United States of America

During my years of reading, researching and watching documentaries of global wars, I have come to realize that USA is truly the world's number one military superpower nation no doubt about this.


They have the biggest global economy not just on paper but in reality. I haven't been to the United States and I really wish to and hoping to visit before 2030, but I have lots of relations, former colleagues and very close friends and childhood clicks that currently live in the US, some work with US Military (AirForce and Navy), some are in the Police, etc, and we do discuss a lot so when I speak about US, I think I have a good level of understanding to speak the truth.



This country have the biggest and strongest economy in the world. This is the only country on earth where anybody ready and willing to work can never remain unemployed; be it a citizen, legal or illegal migrant, and you know it is so? It is because there are so many available jobs than you can ever imagine. There are jobs in virtually all sectors, you just need to get the right skills, training, certification and strength to work unlike many other countries in the world.


When it comes to active war experience, USA have it.

When it comes to global alliance, USA is the only country on earth that have active military bases in virtually all countries of the world. I can boldly say that US have active military bases in over 20% of the countries in the whole world.



What this means is that, USA can prosecute war from any part of the world and they can intercept enemy missiles and projectiles from outside the US before the missile even gets to US homeland.


That is why I laugh when people taunt America with Russia's nuclear weapon. Don't be surprised that if Russia launches a nuclear warhead from Russia to USA, the projectile will be intercepted even before it leaves European airspace. That is how good the US military capability is, they are too good and they spend so much to maintain this.

2.) China

China comes second on my list. Not because they have active war experience but Chinese population and technological innovation of recent calls for recognition.


China is still struggling economy wise; there are no enough good jobs for Chinese citizens, all thanks to their enormous population, but still they deserve the second slot because they are making serious efforts to end poverty and unemployment in China.

3.) Israel

Many won't believe this but the truth is that Israel is the number three global military superpower nation not Russia.


Russia have a lot of dissenting views within Russia, this alone is a risk for the country if faced with a serious external threat not the Ukraine baby threat that Russia is struggling to contend with.


We were made to believe that Russia's KGB were one of the best, second to CIA/FBI, but I can comfortably and boldly tell you that Mossad is the number one intelligence organization in the world, not even CIA.


Mossad does the unthinkable even in difficult terrains and with limited resources.



Russia's biggest military asset is their nuclear weapon they always threaten opposing nations with, that's a sign of weakness. Only a coward and a weakling threatens people with knife because a giant doesn't need to remind you that he would knife you if you dare to defeat him, a giant is always confident of his giant strength such that he doesn't always rely on weapons to defeat his enemies.


Israel have more than proven active war experience to rely on.


Israel have the needed military wares (land, air and sea).


Israel have the courage and determination to prosecute any war without fear. When Israelis hear about war, most clamor to go back home to enlist while Russians flee as their government depend hugely on foreign troops and mercenaries.


Israel have the economy, poverty is almost at zero level. Russia is still struggling economically due to corrupt leadership of many decades. A lot of Russians are poor and struggling, a serious war will throw them off balance. War requires funding to prosecute.


Israel have the intelligence to penetrate difficult terrains.


Israel have the allies, have the nuclear arsenal, so what more?


Israel have been fighting war on all fronts for the past two years and in fact, Israel have been fighting wars since it's formal declaration as a sovereign state. So experience comes with expertise.

4.) Nigeria
Research has shown that if Nigerian military jam you, they’ll give you frog jump and wire you koboko. Which military can withstand such?

Russia is the number four military superpower nation on my list.


Russia is the key nation in former USSR and they inherited most of former USSR's military wares and technology. Because Russians were mostly in charge of the policymaking in the central government of the former USSR, they seized the opportunity to corner most of USSR's assets, including land and mineral resources, leaving former members with barely nothing.


This is one of the reasons Russia maintains a strong military ranking in global military firepower till date.


If not for corrupt dictatorship leadership of many decades, Russia ought to have been one of the biggest and strongest economies in the world after USA because Russia have enormous mineral resources but it's usually plundered by members of the ruling class and their cronies duped Oligarchs. And because these wealthy Russians who mostly amass wealth through corrupt dealings with the corrupt Russian government knows that their government is not reliable, they usually launder or move their wealth to more stable nations in the West (Europe, USA, Canada, etc) for security, and this further affects Russia's economy, making good paying jobs scarce.



Another thing that affected Russia is high racism. Their high level of racism made them to seclude themselves from global economic games, reason you can hardly see Russia conglomerates outside Russia or see giant global oil firms outside Russia owned by Russians. Their technology is also not sellable or rampant outside Russia because they focus mostly on quick moneymaking ventures to extract money within the oil rich nation's treasure and relocate to western nations.


This is another reason Russia had little to no foreign allies not until Vladimir Putin woke up some years back and trying so hard to change that by aligning Russia with other nations of the world.

On paper yes but in reality no.


I have been in a nation that share borders with Russia, my brother, Russians are suffering in silence.


Most Russian girls are into escort business (both online and offline), what we call hookup in Nigeria but high-class version. They troop into South Korean cities to work in bars and massage centers because there are no enough well paying jobs in Russia.



Russian government is highly corrupt, it's run by the FSB who dictate what happens in Russia


If you establish a thriving business in Russia as a Russian, FSB agents will come for you, if you aren't on the side of the ruling government, you are in trouble, in most cases, they will slam charges of being a foreign spy on you and next they take over your business. This has made so many Russians scared of investing in Russia.


A country with a struggling economy can never be a strong military superpower nation on an empty stomach.



You cannot be fighting serious war when your citizens are hungry, they will sabotage you when the enemy offer them good life and monetary reward. It's happening already in Iran

5.) India and Germany

The number 5 nations on my list of top 5 global military superpower nations are; India and Germany.


India is a great nation struggling with overpopulation and leadership corruption. Without those two factors, India would have attainer greater height.


But still India with her enormous population of over 1.4 billion people, and a growing technology, engineering and science is definitely a strong nation when it comes to military firepower.

Let's not forget that India is also a nuclear power nation with versed military wares.


India also have some active war experience, we all are witnesses to what India did to Pakistan in the recently ended standoff in which US President Donald Trump had to intervene because both countries are US allies and it wouldn't be nice for US to watch them tore each other to pieces.



Next is Germany.

Globalfirepower.com rated Germany so low and I laughed.


Germany have the third or fourth largest economy in the world current. Unemployment is very low, and the economy is booming. Germany have one of the best technologies you can rely on; be it in automobile, medical, research, etc, so such a nation can never come below France and others.


Germany just decided to lay low after the enormous damage they caused the whole world in the 1940s during the second world war, but the technology, the innovation, the might, the energy and strength is still there waiting to be awakened. So don't underrated Germany.

When I saw Israel I knew the op is very delusional. Israel that needs USA and others to take on Iran. Almost all of Israel military needs comes from USA. One coke head here is rating them higher than Russia.

Ordinary Ukraine with no single ballistic missile is giving Russia nightmare, compare that to even Hezbollah, Houthis that have long range missiles they shoot into Israel at will.
