Wrong people in positions of authority, the worst of us lead us because of evil money and tribal bigoted politics we play.
Who elected these wrong men? Someone isn't qualified for the Job and yet Nigerians choose to mortgage there future, for incompetency..

For, how long when do we get this things rightly..?

It's the political system, it's a fraud and flawed. Remember less than 20% of Nigerians voted. The political parties and their sycophants have hijacked the polity.

Our homeland security apparatus and systems is very weak. The officers and men on ground seems distracted chasing their personal aspirations, no focus and sacrifice for the job.

What do our intelligence officers and police men do with their time and all resources at their disposal?

There re police stations in every ward in Nigeria, these points are supposed to be for men and eyes on the ground, intelligence gathering and sharing with central command etc...we need to reshuffle or overhaul our security apparatus, too many compromised officers

Seems we can't deal a blow to this kidnapping and banditry menace, for over a decade now.

Weak punitive measures are to blame too, no strong deterrence laws.

Strong laws helps in deterrence and also helps to flush out the most evil brutish criminals from the system.
This is what happens when your Police get fully dressed in the morning, carry their arms only to go and stand on the road to check vehicle papers and extort motorists and this is all they do all day, all week and its just so much worse under this current moronic IGP.

You are right. The energy of the police force is focused on traffic and minor offences, hence they neglect the important job of tracking and pursuing violent criminals.

Violent criminals are Nigeria's problems, kidnappers, terrorists, bandits, armed robbers, not yahoo boys or traffic offenders.

..the main solution is for the government to address and tackle poverty, hunger, hardship, inflation, high costs of living, high rate of unemployment for they say an idle mind is the devil's workshop, an hungry man is an angry man.. and with government addressing all this things insecurity, kidnapping, banditry, criminal activities will reduce and stop gradually

If high ranking people can be abducted, it will be a walk in the park for the common man.
That's the difference between kidnappers up north and the Niger Delta I guess.
The latter kidnaps high value persons, while the former kidnap just anybody they see on the road.
All in all, Nigeria no get internal security. They are always reactive, and not active.

Before the abduction, the security agencies in the state have been tackling violent crimes resulting from cultism in the last two weeks- several cases of murder which led to declaring 8pm curfew. And this has not been resolved though arrests have been made. And the eatery in question which I do not want to name is in the heart of the town.

There are many factors, bad habits like gambling, laziness and lack of value system can make the youths weak and poor and enter crime. Poverty can not be solved by government alone, though it has a large role to play, If you look at Nigeria today a lot of the youths are focused in easy big money...yes government must create jobs, but there must be an effective deterrence system. Even in America, UK there are still criminals and poor people.

..but the rate of crime, poverty is low in USA , UK compared to Nigeria that the rate of crime and poverty is high.. because in UK and USA the government over there provide good governance address and tackle poverty, hunger, hardship, inflation, high rate of unemployment, they create a conducive environment for businesses companies industries to thrive and excel..which creates a lot of jobs for their youths and citizens over there in which it will address poverty, hunger, crime over there...so the rate of crime, poverty, hunger is low in UK and USA compared to Nigeria that is high... that is why many Nigerians japa to UK, USA for greener pastures and better life over there
