Summary: incompetence and lack of coordination. The DSS did a good job by providing credible and actionable intel well ahead of time but the army simply did not do what they are supposed to do.

Its so sad. Hundreds of avoidable deaths due to lack of will or outright competence.

I am not sure this is entirely the fault of security agents. No matter the amount invested in security, people should sue for peace and embrace peace

this is not actually the job of the military. it is the job of the police, DSS and civil defence

And once they strike, Nigerian army will crawl out from their hiding to prevent the community youths from carrying out a reprisal attack on Fulanis.


The solution?


Stop posting Hausa-Fulani Generals to be the GOC of any army barrack outside Northwest and Northeast.


Let every GOC of army barrack in any Nigerian state be an indigene of that state, or at worst someone from that region if the state doesn't have enough Generals to appoint as GOC.


Stop posting Hausa-Fulani Generals to be the commanding officers of army barracks in Middlebelt states, Southeast states, SouthSouth states and Southwest states. They should be posted to Northwest and Northeast states.

Our Intelligence and Security Force's are never proactive.
The same way they were warned at the infant stage of Boko Haram by the CIA, that Boko Haram must be eliminated fast or it will become a big terrorist group linked to some Middle East Jihadist. They did nothing.

Correct even Tinubu talking about the matter appeared to have been told this was a communal class between two tribes etc...thanks to the Brave and erudite Tor-Tiv who chose not to play politics but told them in clear terms that this has been an ongoing genocide and a terrorist attack....period!

Let me tell you this for free I work as a PHC Mentor for all the BHCF in Doma LGA in Nasarawa State and all these news is 100% correct. The mecenaries pass through Lafia on bikes, and hid in bushes in Doka community, Akpanaja, Rukubi . Now even the Nasarawa state government knows about this but are not doing a single thing. I have not been able to visit Doka PHC for about 3 months now because of insecurity. Akpanaja have had series of clashes between Tiv and Fulani people.
Isn't it high time we equip out forest guards with enough training, guns and other equipments in other to make life safe for our people?
Isn't it high time open grazing be stopped?
All these mercenaries came in form of herders and commit this massacre and our leaders are encouraging them. How many lives would be lost before something can be done about it
