Yugoslavia, like most other Eastern European nations, was a collection of tribes brought together using the mighty Communist USSR force and not voluntary agreements and goodwill."The break up of Yugoslavia once a power in European and world football." https://www.facebook.com/share/p/16scnkt1oj/

There was also a time Russia was part of Yugoslavia, then it the called USSR. I remember Montenegro and Serbia once also broke out from it. Next Boznia and Hego. Well, the rise and fall of political empires/dynasties are considered as normal political sequence of events. |

These are people that did not enforce “unity” on one another. Here in Nigeria our politicians refuse to even try to conduct a simple referendum because they benefit greatly from this contraption called unity. Funny enough, the people have been brainwashed to believe their fellow citizens are the problems and not the politicians that create so much divisions. |

"3.2 Basis of the Federation: "(1) Every Ethnic Nationality and People in Nigeria has an unconditional right to self-determination within here delineated territories.Meanwhile, the people feeding fat on the carcass of this dying nation kept on the rhetorics that the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable. Conduct a referendum and let's see how Nigerians want this forced but failed nationhood to look like. |

There's still an ongoing conflict between Kosovo Albanians and Serbs, with the former unilaterally declaring independence in 2008 while Serbia is not ready to recognize Kosovo as independent. The conflict has never been resolved. |

Here we are already divided by religion and tribe, we can never do anything to change our country, if we don't first change our ideology on what patriotism means |

I have said it here and I would say it There is no country or empire in the history of man that had 1) Nigerian like make up multiple ethnicity as majority without any clear majority ethnicity 2) centralized system of government 3) without each ethnicity governing themselves That lasted more than 100 years Let's see if Nigeria would reach 2060 |

Barrywilly:There's still no unity even in the tiny parts Yugoslavia broke into o. Each of those tiny parts has multiple seperatists groups. There's Vojvodina still fighting to separate from Serbia and this is after Montenegro broke away recently.Srpska is still fighting to separate from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Watch how same thing would have happened in Nigeria if we had allowed the bitter hateful lots to hijack the national interest. Do not give chance to those unpatriotic elements who have never built anything in their lives but want to break up Nigeria. They're are accursed lepers , if you allow them, they will spill the milk you and others have milked all day! Bad luck people who should never be allowed into any household or nation. They balkanized Yugoslavia, destroyed the legacies of the founders and now feeding on its entrails! It's happening in Sudan right now! That's their evil plan for Nigeria but for our vigilance and patriotism. May God continue to bless Nigeria for ever.

The disintegration of Yugoslavia is a complex issue shaped by historical, political, and social factors. While it's true that the federation was formed under communist rule, the subsequent conflicts and divisions cannot be attributed solely to that origin. The calls for independence and self-determination were driven by ethnic national identities, economic interests, and political grievances that had developed over decades, exacerbated by the weakening of central authority and the rise of nationalism in the late 20th century. In the aftermath, the violent conflicts highlighted the deep-seated tensions among different ethnic groups, leading to tragic consequences for many. The case of Yugoslavia serves as a reminder of the challenges of nation-building and the delicate balance between unity and diversity in multi-ethnic states. Moreover, comparisons to the breakup of the USSR can be slightly misleading; while both dissolutions involved a push for independence, the contexts and outcomes were distinct. Each region’s path to independence arose from its unique historical backdrop and the particular dynamics at play during the end of the Cold War. In discussions about these historical events, it’s vital to recognize the diverse perspectives and experiences of the people involved, as well as the ongoing implications for regional stability and international relations today. Nigeria is bound to divide . Like someone rightly said . We're just postponing the evil day cos some people benefit immensely from this contraption called Nigeria. It's a shame that when the fracture happens.. West Africa will feel it badly. Amend the constitution.. Allow referendum organized and supervised by the AU and UN (no one in their right minds would suggest INEC). Let Nigerians decide their future.. There won't be any violence whatsoever.. Denying us that right is just capping the lid of an active volcano..when it erupts..May God help us |

Because they are white people. They get good head and understood that their Yugoslavia of multi ethnic and multi religious country cannot last. Sp they divided. In Nigeria, because of crude oil millions of Nigerians have died due to the inadequacies of one Nigeria. Yet politicians don't ask themselves some salient questions on the appropriateness of one Nigeria. |

Conduct a referendum in Nigeria and know that majority of people want the country to split. Genocide is on going in Nigeria. Many want to go their separate ways. |
