Why it's hard for the Igbo's to relocate back home and start developing their region. Leave the politicians development aside, business wise. My sincere observations for years. South East is the smallest region in Nigeria. Fact Land is more expensive in South East compared to other regions. Fact 60% of the land have been acquired by the Igbo's billionaires without having intentions of using it or to sell. They only want to add it to family glory. 20% of the land are family heritage which must be preserved.. Igbo's should look into that and see if there won't be changes in developing their region even if they are not relocating permanently |

helinues:Why you carry Igbo matter on your head like carton of Gala? But if the same Igbo tell you they want their independence from Nigeria, people like you will start running from pillar to post to make sure that does not happen |

gidgiddy:You see, some of you are not interested in discussing the topic of discussion, not ready to dispute or come up with superior arguments, you just want to attack the messenger. Which of what I wrote above are not true? Everything shouldn't be about politics. Development of Nigeria irrespective of regions is what we have been praying for. |

Sharpsharp00123:Bro, everything is politics to them. Why is land in South East so expensive if not because of the factors listed above. In 10 years to come with such mentality, only sky scrappers building would save their real estate industry as the rate at which the land would be so ridiculously expensive then |
| Re: Why Development Of South East Is Stall by danvon(m): 10:48am On Jun 25, 2025 |
Good point. Then you add the fact that a large number of Igbos are traders and as traders they always seek consumers and producers. So even if the South East was developed, large number of Igbos would still be in other parts of the country. Capitalism and greed is what is destroying Igbo land not FG or marginalization. |

helinues:the way their society is programmed is harming them n they don't know, their society only favours d top class Middle class is virtually non existent in Ibo land n the poor aren't represented at all n that's y they all claim billionaire without considering d fact that they have poor people too I pray their Biafra is granted n they are all told to go back home, they will fight a ruthless war within 5 years |

Sharpsharp00123:Bro, when you meet the average Igbo, it is easy to note they respect what you own materially or seem to own, from your appearance and 'accoutrements', more than anything else. They cannot build a society, akin to the best globally, based on lofty principles of humanity. This is why virtually every drug dealer and kidnapper is a chieftancy title owner in ala Igbo today. |

WizardOfNG:God bless u Ibos don't believe in giving back to the society or building a good n viable society where everyone thrives irrespective of region. Ibos believe so much in individualism See the way they brag about empty houses n never care about poverty rate in d whole region An Ibo man will rather build an empty house worth 50billion in his village for self gratification than do a business that will put the village in d best economic position. I wish they get their Biafra n we all ban them from Nigeria, with their attitude of individualism n self gratification while claiming billionaire n ignoring d poor. The poor will revolt in no time n a war will break out n it's already happening with the high crime rate in their region Even d rich can't go home in peace again |

helinues:There are 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria out of these 6 you believe development in south east is stalled? Have you visited Enugu, ABA, awka , abakeleke Owerri etc before making this conclusion? Besides government project which south east governors are competivly developing their respective states , do you know how many housing projects, hotels etc individuals are completing everyday in south east? Why not ask yourself why development in south wast states like oyo , Ogun, Ondo , ekiti osun is stalled? There are so much brown roofs in these south wast states cause they have all relocated to Lagos and the ones left are too poor to demolished and rebuild houses built in the 50s , south west states are stalled not south east , sometimes you guys who talk like this about SE have not even been there to see things for yourself you are holding on to propaganda |

For the first time I will agree with helinues the fake old man. Cuz is true the Development in South East is very over rated. They have too many villages upon their small geopolitical size |

helinues:By asking why is it hard for Igbos to go back home and develop their region?it simply means by implication that you are insinuating that Eastern region is not developed. So I find it hard to contribute meaningfully to your post.I may also want to know the yardstick you used in measuring development and juxtapose it with other Nigerian regions. If it is structural development, the East is next to non apart from the favored federal govt projects almost always allocated to other regions, for obvious reasons since the civil war. If it is human resource development, they south east is even towering above others. If it is economic development, the south east have done great. less you forget, south east has the most developed ruler areas in sub saharan Africa. So when you say,the south east should develop their region,it is confusing and vague. |

AustineE1:Villages in South East are more developed than the city and in both no serious business activities going on there. Those big mansions in the villages, what economic benefits are they giving to the people living around? |
| Re: Why Development Of South East Is Stall by helinues(op): 11:50am On Jun 25, 2025 |
Mrfeel:Bro , leave sentiments apart, leave politics apart, shun tribe. There are rich people in South East who will prefer to invest outside their region. The question is why? The development in South East states are mostly by government, I am talking about business, investment wise by the indigenes |
