Where in Lagos does this happen when Lagos is practically sitting on water and everyone can dig his own borehole?

Rented a house few years ago.. When I went for inspection, the house wasn't in good shape, so I complained and the Landlord assured me they will fix the necessary things after I make payment which I did.. To my surprise, landlord didnt do anything

Another surprising thing was that, my apartment was in total black out when NEPA brought light. I complained to him and he started he was just giving one excuse or the other

I called an electrician and we discovered that all the wires had melted.. I complained and complained but he did nothing until I had to wire the house with my own money, and that was how this bastard raised my rent by almost 100% shortly later

Make God just bless person, make person build him own house.. Even if na two rooms, I don't mind moving into there.. In fact, even if na inside bush the house dey sef, I no mind again oo cheesy

The way landlords are becoming greedier and inconsiderate to young people. Some of them can even use their greed to derail your journey or put you some steps backwards.. The more reason why some landlords don't even want you to stay more than a year

The moment you move in, they start making life uncomfortable for you so you won't renew the rent. They just want another person in, so they can collect fresh rent with agreement and commission

A time is coming when all your salary or labour for a whole year would end up in the hand of your landlord

We are gradually moving into that era

Ogudu Orioke. Most houses there don't have water and good bore hole water, so they get water from far distance from other places using under ground pipes.

Well, to be very honest.. I can testify that I have one of the best landlords ever!!!! Dude is an OG for real...

There is a popular saying that; "what goes around comes around", my dad has always been good to all his tenants and none of them never had an issue with him... He has 4 houses in this Lagos and he doesn't involve those useless agents and lawyers in his business, he handles everything by himself and he has some of the most satisfied tenants ever...

I believe his goodwill is what I'm getting in return from my Landlord.. smiley
Bro..e go shock you but I’m here to tell you that you just know how to be a tenant. That’s why you’re not having issues with your landlord. Na you get the credit, not your landlord. You just know how to be a tenant.
“Landlords make the best tenants.”
Most tenants are mischievous. They are always looking for one right or the other to prove in a rented apartment.
If u check well, you will see that your landlord may not be in great terms with the other tenants.

This is 100% facts, Lagos house hunting is not for the fainthearted. most of these landlords will sell you a dream, only for reality to slap you after payment. That part about it doesn’t flood…except that one time really hit me I literally had to elevate my bed with blocks because my room became a swimming pool after the first heavy rain.

Please, if you’re renting in Lagos, inspect during rain, ask the neighbors quietly, and don’t let fresh paint deceive you. Agents won’t tell you the truth their own na commission.

Lagos rent is too expensive to enter one-chance compound. Better to delay payment than rush into regret. Weldone Eyes of Lagos for this solid piece

A more reason I advocate for landlords to have other sources of income apart from the house they're renting. And landlords should have other businesses they're doing (something that will make them leave the house in the morning). However they're some good landlords

There is no atom of lie in all you said bro.. Some of my neighbours are currently having court case with this same landlord of mine... Most people don't know how to keep good relationship with others... Some people can't reason or think by themselves, they believe every fuckin' lies a fellow neighbour tell them about their landlord and automatically, they start having issues with the landlord also... At least 3 of my neighbours have tried to paint the man as a terrible person but I just smile whenever they're dropping those lamba...

As old as my landlord is, he sees nothing bad in helping me close the gate whenever I drive outside, and I do the same thing to him... It's all about respect...

Whats the difference between post paid and estimated bill?
psychologist:
We have paid for pre paid and they will come and install it in one week time

7 months done the line you are still waiting for the pre paid to be installed

And he will leave you to be paying estimating bill through your nose, not just that, PHCN will still expect you to be offsetting outstanding bill on the post paid meter.

Bottom line

Avoid any house without prepaid meter

Lol.

Tell me you are joking please.

This is like a shock to a new tenant who fell for it!

I don't understand this your post.

Is it prepaid meter that gave you wahala or estimated billing?
Omoboricash:

you have a good and honest landlord. so you can see not all landlords are bad
Which honest landlord? I left his house at tenth month i moved in. He made me realised that he will refund me after getting another occupant.
I forfeited 2 month money. So invariably, if no one comes for his house till end of two rent, which i
paid for and i have left his house after tenth month, i will not have penny to collect.

Except those houses are far away from where you work, why aren't you living in one of them rather than be a tenant elsewhere?

On the contrary, living in one of those properties will enable you to save up, increase your investments so you own your property in the near future. What's the point for parents to own landed assets while their children go through hell as tenants?

Okay.

The landlord promised and failed.

That is a sad one.

Thanks for your response.
