President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on his 60th birthday, praising his commitment to the development of Lagos.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday, Tinubu described Sanwo-Olu as a dedicated public servant who has stayed true to the vision of transforming Lagos.

“Your execution of this vision is exemplified by landmark achievements, including completing the Blue and Red Rail lines and the ongoing preparations for the Purple Line, which will serve the vital Lekki corridor.

“I urge you to sustain this trajectory by prioritising impactful projects for Lagosians, notably the long-awaited Fourth Mainland Bridge and the Freedom Way to Victoria Garden City (VGC) Road,” Tinubu said.

The President also wished the governor continued good health and many more years of service to Lagos and Nigeria.

The statement highlighted that Sanwo-Olu began his political career under Tinubu’s mentorship and noted that he served in various roles in Lagos State, including as Commissioner in multiple ministries and as Managing Director of the Lagos State Property Development Corporation.

Im surprise Sanwo olu has not start construction on the project by now. The bridge will connect Lekki with Itamaga in ikorodu.

It is a disgrace that a city like Lagos cannot boast of a modern Water and sewage system

Those two things are more of a priority than 4th Mainland bridge

Instead they should focus on improving the water transport system with ferries and barges

The 4th Mainland Bridge is a big deal that will connect Ikorodu to the Lekki Peninsula and reduce travel time.

I support Tinubu and APC but you see Lagos APC? They are useless! Most of them are living of Tinubu’s glory! Most are mediocre and overhyped! Now that Tinubu is at the center, I completely understand why people are irritated with the so called Lagos boys. They are generally arrogant and mediocre!

Sanwoolu is a vastly underperforming governor if you consider the resources available to him and his impact on Lagos. Lagos has a GDP of over $100b! At the very least Lagos should be generating at least $10b a year in IGR but they are so small minded they barely register $1b! Because they are so small minded and because it seems a lot compared to other states, they clap for themselves!

The only reason I voted for SanwoOlu last time was because of Chinedu and the Obidients! It was a very very reluctant vote! Give me a better candidate I won’t hesitate to vote him and the APC gang out!

Lagos APC crew (excluding Tinubu) irritate me…..full stop! An overhyped bunch of arrogant small minded mediocre people!

Bitter people will be disappointed again. They want fight but get hurt. Tinubu and Sanwo olu are just father to son and leader as the governor said during Salah homage. Your governors can continue to fight thier benefactors in your region and nobody cares about that. One couldn't take his beneficiary to join the party he called as one of structure of criminality.

when they construct one, people like you will say they will share it among themselves. The fourth mainland bridge is just too compulsory cos it will drastically reduce hoidups. With Tinubu echoing it, I trust Sanwo olu to start it soonest. The freedom way road from Ajah to VI should be continued cos Sanwo olu had abadanoned it since last year and it is baffling. Tinubu is a visionary leader.

Only the cost you are looking at but not the impact on the citizens of Lagos. Lagos is very capable of financing the bridge project without affecting thier other obligations. You don't know better than Tinubu. Lagos generates alot of revenue on daily basis. Make you face your state oh.
