This is not the best for the country,to me creating Anioma state to complete South East states and allowing all regions to operate independently.Another area is dividing kwara state into two, the yorubas from kogi,Edo, and kwara state join South West region.The ijaws in ondo state join South South region.With all regions independently operating Nigeria will be great.

I'm actually in support of the creation of more states.
It seems some states are just too big for one person to manage as Governor.

If there's gonna be any of such at all,it should be Afemai state for the Afemai people and Edo state for the Edo people of benins and Ishan. We are better together.

The oba of Benin years and years ago should never have allowed the afemais and Ishan people to go..or he should have forbidden them to have their own kings.

Look, over time, people become distant from each other. Even related people. Urhobo, Isoko, most senior Itsekiri chiefs, a good percentage of Itsekiri and the Olu, Iseluku, Illah, Onicha-Ugbo, Onicha-Olona and many Delta people are of Benin origin.

Today, those tribes/people are in Delta. No problem. Benin has people in Rivers state such as Degema, Ogba, a large part of Rivers Obiokpor and others. People like Wike and Amaechi. A large tree will spread its seeds far and wide.


Most Edo North claim Benin origin too.

If today's politics decides things this way, let it be. Look, Benin artifacts are coming home after almost 130 years.

In all of this I didn't see Anioma state. So what is going on.

These are people that lack focus in Nigeria. Nigeria has not finish putting 36 states in Progress and these people are adding 31...🤔. Will the 31 new states in Nigeria end insecurities, bad road, No constant light, High cost of food and so on?

As a matter of fact, some states currently are not even worth being called states. Imagine Oyo State alone being larger than the entire South East, yet others want to form a new state there. Lagos is the smallest state in Nigeria, yet they're proposing a new "lagoon" state within that small land mass.

They're not thinking of how to solve pending issues, it's how to embezzle state allocation they're targeting. Make all of them just getat!

No one should touch Anambra. Anambra is a monolithic state

We dont really need new states at all, the existing states are not even viable to create resources for themselves they are thinking of creating other states and secondly this is another way to create more politicians for those new states to embezzle the country more

They should send another bill to reduce Nigeria to just 18 states. Each of the 6 zones should be condensed into 3 states each. Then simultaneously enforce strong local government autonomy. Government should be closer to the people via the local government not state level.⁷
