When you start taking responsibilities, you may see things clearer than you do. You may also withdraw the "wicked" tag on your father.
You may also want to know his qualification of entry into the Civil Service and work level

Marry and raise your own kids then come back here. You didn't state any reasonable facts up there. Your dad accused your mum of his debts? Why? You didn't state. All I see is a bitter adult blaming his father for all of life's woes.

He Worked 12 years being single before getting married.
That 12 years he worked was useless.

He didn’t marry his wife properly. No wedding pic of them as husband and wife.
No house of his own, no property,
No car , nothing.
What did he do with those 12 years.

Is it the remaining 23 years remaining to serve or retire , he will achieve anything being married with responsibilities.

This my unfortunate dad never achieved anything throughout his 35 years of working.
He was busy blaming his wife for putting him in chronic debt,
Now I sat down and began to think that this man was already a failure before he got married.
Because you have use 1/3 of your 35 years as a single man yet no single achievement.

Some men don’t deserve to married.

They don't even know if the person is a driver or even a cleaner in that so called office....what they know is that he is a civil servant.

You can actually be the light in that family if u stop blaming ur father and work hard in life I have seen so many people from very poor backgrounds who rose up from their ashes to not only change the fortunes of their immediate families but also that of their poor fathers. If u keep on going on like this ur father might end up laying a curse on u which will eventually make you to end up even worse than him in life.

. Why are you incensed by my questions? I asked you that because you didn't answer my question. You did not state the reason why you claim you make excuses for your father, whom you likened to OP's father.

I could have killed a lot of people

I have gone through most of the comments on this thread (most especially from men which i'm certain most of them are deadbeats fathers, Misery loves company) and i can confidently say Nigeria will never get better. Trust me!

Only few men, Kobojunkie and Dallas made good comments.

In as much as i understand OP's pain and greiviance, I disagree with him coming on here to paint his father bad and calling him all sort of names. It shows he doesn't understand life yet.

I'm currently having my own fair share of life due to the mistake of who? The same "Careless men" yes i'm very proud to say this. men who wouldn't own up to their errors and carelessness in life.

Being financially poor as a father isn't necessarily bad, provided you can PLAN your life adequately and be DISCLIPINED & PRINCIPLED man. A man can be financially poor, be responsible, still nuture his offspring with LOVE But unfortunately, most Nigerian men are unprincipled and undisciplined men.

OP hasn't healed and he needs a lot of counseling. He doesn't understands life yet and probably still in his late 20's or early 30's

I rather not put my story on here because there is no need crying over a spilled drink. Life is what it is, Humans are generally very selfish and they will always satisfy themselves at the detriment of others. (In Most Cases) Nigeria is a very good example.

The grace i have is i am Alien, Intelligent, Spiritually Gifted just to mention few of my attributes. I am gradually building my life until it get to my taste.
