Most are external, meaning in dollars. Clearly, our debts have reduced under Jagaban Dike Simba Omo Ologo 1. Over $50 billion debt reduction in two years deserves a second term IMHO. |

Omo real Wow. From ₦5.2 trillion in 2010 to over ₦144 trillion in 2024 that’s not just a debt trend, that’s a full-blown economic red flag. What's even more shocking is how the USD equivalent started rising, then plunged in 2024 a clear sign that it's not just borrowing going wild, but the naira collapsing under pressure. We’re not just borrowing money anymore, we’re borrowing from the future at the cost of development, job creation, and stability. If all this debt had translated into infrastructure, healthcare, education, or real economic growth, Nigerians might not be complaining. But what exactly did we borrow to achieve? |

Tbh, owing $97b is not a lot for a country of 200m people. The 'saner climes' with less population owes more than that. That money is not even up to a fraction of California's yearly budget, that's a state of less than 50m people. |

PDP was borrowing to pay salaries, pay subsidies on both petroleum and electricity, and even backed the naira through borrowing though not sustainable. The APC came and removed the various subsidies, and floated the Naira. Now they are even borrowing more than the same PDP they condemned and nothing to show for all these never ending borrowing sprees. Still some people will still campaign and vote for this evil called APC. |

Raise your hand/s if you can also produce a fancy looking spreadsheet. Accurate financial record keeping has been an issue since at least 1960. Forget about trying to acquire pristine NNPC figures and records. |
