Private companies listed. LUTH alone has over 100000 employees. The Federal medical centre where I work in the north has over 3000 staff. And there are over 60 Federal Medical centers and Teaching hospitals in country with over 300000 staff

I maybe right or wrong, but they should come to Agbara which is Lagos/Ogun state and see companies with thousands of employees.
Nestle, Unilever, PZ and co have thousands of staffs. Or are we talking of Multipro makers of Indomie and so many other products. Multipro drivers alone are more than 2,000 not to talk of those inside the factory and offices.
I don't want to hear some are not staffs. Provided you're working and receiving money from them, they're indirectly your employer

In Nigeria of today, church is the highest employer of labour
Unpaid workers right?

You need to be specific because most church workers are working for God in faith and other organizations pay them salary
Re: Top 10 Largest Employers Of Labour In Nigeria by daniwise(m): 6:43am On Jun 26, 2025
Which banks? Majority of those bank workers are outsourced staffs. They work so hard and end up receiving peanut as salary. No remuneration,no promotion, nothing at all.It is well with Nigeria.

Zenith Bank Lagos Branch or in the federation? Zenith Bank employs more than 7k in southern region alone na. Which kind 'oluyole' statistics be this?
The stats are true. They picked up the employment data from the financial statements of the companies themselves as these are all publicly listed entities. Except if you are implying Zenith falsified its own data in its financials.

ISn't Sumal only in Oyo state, Ibadan, they are also not listed on the stock exhange market as the Op's list tend to suggest. I doubt they have up to 2000 employees.
You mean a lot of labourers among the 2000 workers.. We are talking of real staff on payroll with benefits including Health Schemes, Pension and severance package.

Where is Sumal/Yale in this analysis, unless you are talking about employers with more than average pay.

The US is the world's largest economy by nominal GDP. Stop comparing Nigeria to the US, but rather South Africa, Indonesia and Brazil.

What's it with you people and the US, are both countries mates?

When banks have more employees than manufacturing/construction/agro-allied companies, it's not good enough for the economy. It's like having medical doctors more than patients.

Dis is d biggest problem, d richest black man employs only 20,000 pple in his own country wre 90% of his investment is.
What do we expect from other companies? The problem is, they are all benefiting from bad government policies dat doesn't protect labour in any way only encouraging employers to over use working instead of employing more workers.
There should b a specific number of works a company will have base on ur annual profit, any company dat defaults on it will b fined heavily.
