mrvitalis:I just checked and you seemed "right." However, the figure is down due to the Naira develuation. If the economy was rebased as was done in 2007, per capita income would be at least $2,000. In 2007, it was over $3,000 in 2007. |

mrvitalis:Just that you are not too educated my friend, you should know that economic data for the year 2025 will only be available in 2026 or even later than that. What you have done is like predicting a students final result in year 100, based on their current behaviour. Even if you don't understand this, didn't you see the word "projected" in the gibberish you just shared? |

They are doing ok. $32 million is ground nuts. They haven't significantly increased borrowing and are slowly paying off external debt to the west. Rome wasn't built in a day. They have a line of credit of over $344 million with the IMF if needed. Here's the numbers for the number crunchers. Too much to copy and paste. https://www.imf.org/external/np/fin/tad/balmov2.aspx?type=TOTAL |

mrvitalis:Oga, if they told you a man went from 105kg to 25 kg in 3 weeks, would you believe it? That's the same thing as believing Nigeria's per capita income is now $800. I am neither APC nor PDP. I am apolitical. They are all crooks. If I was to choose a candidate purely for his proposed economic policies, it would have been Atiku. Secondly, judging the economy by parties is unsound, It is best judged by presidents, and not parties. OBJ- A3 Yar'Adua- C2 Jonathan- D Buhari- F9 raised to the power 10 Tinubu- A3 Buhari completely destroyed the economy. That was why people were Japaing. Tinubu is reviving it but economic reform is always painful. Things wouldn't have been this bad had Emefiele refused to coorperate him. 97% of government of government revenue was going towards debt servicing. Imagine you collecting a salary of 1m monthly, and you're left with only 30k after servicing your debt. The World Suggest 20% but Nigeria's was 97%. That Kenya is about 40% and the country has to implement reforms to increase revenue and there are protests everywhere. |

grandstar:Don’t mind the sheer ignorance of the poster that said that nonsense. Burkina Faso doesn’t measure up to Nigeria on several metrics whether economy, Infrastructure, Gdp per capita (which is actually a wack way of indicating wealth distribution) and so on. |

mrvitalis:What tribal sentiments? You can read what this Yoruba man said below: https://thenationonlineng.net/subsidy-removal-floating-of-naira-disruptive-changes-nigeria-must-go-through-soludo/ Stop using the tribal card when the news does not fit your narrative. I am apolitical. I have even said I would have preferred Atiku's policies over Tinubu's. Is Atiku Yoruba? All the 3 main presidential candidates were also going to end fuel subsidies and make the Naira market reflective again. What's the noise now about Tinubu for implementing those very same reforms? Why did the country's GDP drop so drastically? It was due to the Naira losing about 60% of it's value. So, let's say the country GDP is 100 trillion naira and th exchange rate is $1- N500. That means the country's GDP in dollars would be $200bn. Now, if the exchange rate now fell to $1-N1,500, that means the GDP is now $66bn. The fall is down to the drop in the exchange rate. However, it won't remain that way forever. Soon, prices would begin to adjust to the new value. I am an estate agent and I have seen property prices increase by over 100% in the last 2 years. Salaries too will increase. In time, when a rebasing of the economy is carried, the nation's GDP would be much higher. |

EnkayDezign:A Jordanian who travelled to Ivory Coast was stunned by how advamced it was. It was way ahead of Amman, the capital of Jordan. Yet, it's per capita income is about $2,900 while Jordan is about $4,700. It makes absolutely no sense. You're correct about per capita income. If it really was a good metric, there's no way possible that Missisippi has a higher standard of living that Germany. |
