After three decades this country na truly at your own risk. You will not understand until you represent this country for anything apart from politics.

After 31 years!!!
Well, congrats to those of them that are still alive....
Na WA o. Our Greatest Football squad was treated like this huh? If they can treat them like this what chance do we less great mortals stand in this country. That's why I always say " work hard for your own greatness first and your country will be attached to your greatness ". Like how American sports and American music give America free publicity and Nigerian music and Nollywood give Nigeria global publicity.

Mhen look at that picture of gods in human flesh. Look at how they stand well well.

The great Maradona needed two very fast free kicks to beat Nigeria. Maradona was a genius he showed us what had not been done regularly and we fell twice in the same match. After we lost to Italy I walked into my room and looked at the wide open window on the third floor. I could understand why Brazilians jumped out of windows when Brazil lost. I shut the window and cried vowing to never watch eagles play football since they caused so much pain. Thank God I made that promise because since then Super Eagles have become Super Chickens.

Re: FG Finally Redeems House Pledge To ’94 Eagles by NaijaphiliaBlog(op):
Amen! I read Segun Odegbami's interview and was really touched.

I've also read up on Rashidi Yekini's life story. He was not educated but football brought him into limelight.

He was born in Kaduna and started life as a welder. However, he loved football with all his heart and football eventually made him great.

Truly, "A man's gift expands his way and makes space for him before leaders. " (Prov 18:16).

Above all, I was most impressed by Yekini's generosity of spirit. He loved helping people and really touched a lot of lives.

Politics aside, we really need to commend the government for finally fulfilling the pledge. Better late than never!

Christlike01:
Rashidi Yekini's challenge wasn't money—he had plenty of it. As a matter of fact,he was giving out money and other valuable materials like hell!

Rashidi suffered a great depression which was triggered by a mysterious ailment. Go and read Segun Odegbami's interview— Rashidi Yekini wasn't broke even while he was sick.

May his soul rest in peace.

DeepSight:
This post reveals everything I suspected. You don't know anything about how government works. If you think it's everything that gets to the Presidents desk then you don't know anything at all.

Secondly you have revealed yourself. I can't stand people who, without even knowing another person's political stance, will just start talking about Peter Obi once the govt is criticized. How do you know I am not an Atiku or even Sowore supporter. It's very tiresome and pitiful the way you guys just make everything about PO and it reveals who you are. It shows that you are not about constructive criticism like you claimed rather you belong to the obsessed gang.

Next thing you will call me Igbo or IPOB.
I have no time for your type.
LMAO indeed. Only a deranged person sees the truth and still decide to whine.

What is your grievance exactly? FG shouldn't have redeemed the pledge since the past governments failed?

Okay, PBAT didn't approve the allocation
Tell us who did. Since you are the DG NIA who is Omniscient.

In all you have said, you are only going round in circles. At least, I have been direct in my stance and as such you "know my type". What type are you? Confused?

Let us know what you stand for and what exactly is pinching you inside your boxer. cheesy

Pls tell me how Peter Obi came into this conversation. Thank you.

PS: As it happens, PMB had approved since 2022.

only keshi and yekini... dont know if up to five you claimed
ogaemma:
After 31 year's of waiting.
About 5 members of that squad have died.
Including their iconic Legendary captain Stephen Keshi.
Other countries that won the CAF Nation's cup does it also take them 31 year's to redeem their promise to their player's?
Now is obvious why the likes of Obafemi Martins and Sunday Olise refused their son's to play for Nigeria.
Nigeria is not worth dieing for.
Enjoy your house's great footballer's.

nothing you fit tell me oo... tinubu is the worst to rep nigeria...a far cry from buharis bad performance
TallNigerian:
are you not tired of wailing?
Tinubu is trying to right the wrongs of the past leaders through this gesture. Same thing he is doing with the accrued pension benefit for federal retirees under the CPS whose accrued benefits date back to pre 2004.

It is important to criticise but can you do so like someone with a brain?

Past leaders (both military and civilian) didn't prioritise the need to redeem their pledge but here we have someone who is trying to do the right thing, yet agenda must agend for wailers.

Let's criticise government where they are failing and appreciate them where they are getting it right. Perpetual complaining in all situation (good or bad) is actually a mental illness.

Absolutely!

It is only those who have never experienced life under military rule that would consider it better than democracy.
