See what corruption has caused my dear country. Unfortunately, the masses, out of tribal and religious sentiments, enable the looters to keep looting. |

In the miidst of all these economic and social upheavals, Emilokan and his cohorts keep scooping and serving fake economic and development indices to their obsessive supporters from the pot of lies. |

Onewazobia:You must be high on something. What were the indices during Jonathan's time vs Buhari vs Tinubu. Wasn't there corruption under Jonathan. But were the indices of his government this bad? Please stop defending nonsense. If you know how shamefully low the country has sunk under your Tinubu, you won't talk this thrash you're talking. |

Racoon:Online urchins will tell that this is how countries are built! You must first and foremost be poor before being rich. They will also educate you on how the populace should suffer before the light at the beginning, the middle and at the end of the tunnel can be seen. |

chidiokay:The correlation between a country’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and transactions recorded through formal banking channels is generally positive, but the strength of that correlation can vary widely depending on the country’s level of economic development, financial inclusion, and the size of its informal economy. 🔍 Understanding the Relationship ✅ 1. GDP and Banking Transactions: * GDP measures the total value of goods and services produced in a country. * Banking transactions reflect recorded economic activities—such as wages, sales, and investments—that flow through formal financial systems (banks, mobile money, etc.). Since most formal economic activities (e.g., corporate sales, wages, taxes) are transacted through banks, a strong banking system typically reflects higher and more traceable GDP. 📈 When the Correlation is Strong In developed economies: * Most transactions go through banks (e.g., salaries, purchases, taxes). * Informal economic activity is low. * Result: High correlation between GDP and banking transactions. 📉 When the Correlation is Weaker In developing or informal economies: * Large segments of the population may be unbanked. * Cash-based or barter transactions dominate local markets. * Many economic activities (like street vendors, informal labor) are not captured by banks. * Result: Weaker correlation between GDP and banking transactions, and GDP may be underestimated. 💡 Implications * Underbanking can distort official GDP figures. * Expanding financial inclusion (e.g., mobile banking) improves GDP measurement accuracy. * Policymakers and analysts should consider banking penetration when evaluating economic performance using GDP. |

Abbeyme:maybe if i had cheated to pass through school i would be confused, the epistle is irrelevant GDP is only concern with local productivity in a year, and its not dependant on bank transactions for computation. The monetary value of goods and services produced are recorded with Businesses Not the bank, the bank just dey in own they serve as channel for All money flow Banks transactions measures the profitability of financial institutions while GDP is a key measure of economic growth Oga GDP is monogamously in relationship with Business ... cos it is businesses that records monetary value and transactions relative goods and services only if i go to innoson motors to buy cars and i pay through bank for instance, the bank does not capture the details of that transaction unlike Innoson journal. What you need to understand is GDP relationship with enterprises Bank transactions vary and they are clogged with all kinds of payment, so it only logical to work with enterprises you don learn something free today |

Racoon:Mr OP,stop 🚏 being theatrical, afterall, you were here, when your Emiefiele Wasted NTrillions of Money 🤑 in Ways and Means as Former' CBN governor and - till date Could Not Accounts for the NBillions in Anchor 🔱 Borrowers Farmers Money at the CBN during his term and some of you have Jaundice to only see Yellow 🟡,so I would not blame you. •The Simple Reason is that We are yet to run a PRODUCTIVE ECONOMY - where We should be having More Exports of Finished Goods- to earn Foreign Exchange Money 💰 ( FOREX). You are an Opposition - trying to tell your stories here on Nairaland Forum,so I'm not surprised 🙀! My Suggestions/ Proposals are: •-Govt Focus Should Be: - get the Power/ Light 🚨 to be Working 24/7- Many Nigerians Are really living in Darkness and Without Lights 🕯️. - More Industrial Development all over Nigeria- so that Our Youths Employments- Springs ♨️ up in different States - Let ALL the Governors - Declare Their ASSETS for NIGERIANS to See. - Let All the Federal Workers- the Executive,Legislatures, and the Ministries,e.g NNPC, Declare their Assets - because many are very Corrupt. •Unless and Until we work hard- to Do More Exports - to Earn More and Be Comparative Competitive In This World 🌎+as well to kill •Corruption, Nothing Tangible Can Be Achieved in Nigeria. |

drstranged:How low please? We are true reflection of the kind of people we are, the leaders are not from the moon neither are they from one tribe or religion. Obi, Atiku, Buhari, Tinubu, Zulum@maiduguri, Apabio@SEnat etc are all corrupt and evil. There levels in wickedness and corruption only differs |
| Re: Nigeria Ranked 12th Poorest Country By GDP Per Capita In 2025 by drstranged: 2:18pm On Jul 06, 2025 |
Onewazobia:True they're all corrupt and that's not the point. Even Jonathan and Yar ardua were corrupt. Even leaders of the best economies in the world are also corrupt. But my point is, their economic policies were far better than what we have today! Until Nigerians are ready to put primordial religious and ethnic sentiments aside and put these politicians in their place, I'd go with the lesser evil. In fact, for someone to come out and defend Tinubu in this way and even compare him to previous govts shows the person needs a serious mental check. |
