What are Accrued expenses? These are expenses that the company has not yet paid in previous years. Then what are receivables? Receivables are expectations from customers which has not been received. Where your customers also serve as your vendors, especially in a joint venture kind of transaction, in which the NNPC does, it is a matter of reconciliation and sorting it out. The past executives of the corporation were hurriedly removed, and you are shouting at the present executive to come and explain. They did the right thing to demand if truly there is fraud by asking for a 2-month grace to reconcile and get back to them if truly there is fraud. You are shouting for ten days. The stupid journalists will not verify information since they are all bloggers now; they will just throw open information like it is water.

We have a problem of educated illiterates in this country, and I fear it may it not be the reason they will burn this country one day.
Who are the members of the committee? semi-illiterate senator, what do they understand about the oil and gas business? zero..... What is their accounting knowledge? Zero..... I pity the country. Were they not briefed of the financial situation and history of the company before they assumed their current position ... ?

So are we saying that from 2017 to 2023, the NNPC did not prepare any account that was audited? Are we saying all the accounts are now audited and released at once?


How come nobody said anything when 100Billion discrepancy was discovered? How come the Senate waited till up to 10 years budget of the whole country disappeared before the Senate now gave 10 days. Who was the Chairman of the Senate committee on PEtroleum all these years? Why was the audited account never considered? There are some things the senate mentions and it makes any rational nigerian sick to point that he can believe that those making laws and running oversight of the country are really stewpeed.
